1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

  • Laser Safety: This device emits a Class 2 laser. Do not stare directly into the laser beam or point it at people's eyes. Avoid direct eye exposure.
  • Non-Contact Measurement: The thermometer measures surface temperature. It is not intended for measuring human body temperature.
  • Battery Handling: Use only the specified AAA batteries. Ensure correct polarity when installing. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The SOVARCATE Infrared Thermometer requires 2 AAA batteries (included). To install or replace batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the handle.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Taking a Measurement

To measure the surface temperature of an object:

  1. Point the thermometer at the target object.
  2. Press and hold the trigger. The display will show "SCAN" and provide real-time temperature readings.
  3. Release the trigger to hold the reading. The display will show "HOLD".

5.2 Unit Conversion (Celsius/Fahrenheit)

To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press the "C/F" button located below the display.

5.3 Laser Pointer and Backlight Control

  • Laser Pointer: Press the button with the laser icon () to turn the laser pointer on or off. The laser assists in targeting the measurement area.
  • Backlight: Press the button with the light bulb icon (💡) to turn the display backlight on or off. This feature is useful in low-light conditions.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To ensure accurate readings and prolong the life of your thermometer:

  • Wipe the casing with a soft, damp cloth.
  • For the lens, use a soft, lint-free cloth or a cotton swab with a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Avoid touching the lens directly.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or use harsh chemicals.

6.2 Storage

Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove the batteries.
