Operating Instructions

Basic Pressure Cooking

  1. Add ingredients and liquid to the inner pot. Do not exceed the MAX fill line (2/3 full for most foods, 1/2 full for expanding foods like rice or beans).
  2. Place the pressure cooking lid onto the main unit, aligning the arrow on the lid with the arrow on the base. Rotate the lid clockwise until it locks into place.
  3. Ensure the pressure release valve is in the "Sealing" position.
  4. Select your desired cooking function:
    • Pre-programmed Functions: Press one of the six pre-programmed function buttons (e.g., Rice, Soup, Meat). The cooker will automatically set the appropriate time and pressure.
    • Manual Setting: Press the "Manual" button, then use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the cooking time up to 99 minutes.
  5. Press the "Start" button to begin cooking. The cooker will preheat and build pressure. Once pressure is reached, the cooking timer will begin counting down.
  6. When cooking is complete, the cooker will beep and automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" setting.

Pressure Release

After cooking, pressure must be released before opening the lid.

  • Natural Release: Allow the pressure to dissipate naturally. This is recommended for foamy foods or large cuts of meat. The float valve will drop when pressure is fully released.
  • Quick Release: Carefully turn the pressure release valve to the "Venting" position. Steam will rapidly escape. Keep hands and face away from the steam. The float valve will drop when pressure is fully released.

Slow Cook Function

To use as a slow cooker:

  1. Add ingredients to the inner pot.
  2. Place the glass lid on the cooker.
  3. Select the "Slow Cook" function and adjust the time as needed.
  4. Press "Start".

Care and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your pressure cooker.

  • Always unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Inner Pot: The removable inner pot is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. For hand washing, use warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge.
  • Pressure Cooking Lid: Remove the sealing ring and wash it, along with the lid, in warm, soapy water. Ensure the pressure release valve and float valve are clear of food debris.
  • Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Storage: Store the pressure cooker in a dry place. You may store the lid inverted on the inner pot to prevent odors and allow air circulation.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pressure cooker, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Cooker not building pressure: Ensure the lid is properly sealed and locked. Check that the sealing ring is correctly seated and not damaged. Verify the pressure release valve is in the "Sealing" position. Ensure there is sufficient liquid in the pot.
  • Steam leaking from lid: Check the sealing ring for proper placement, damage, or food debris. Clean the sealing ring and lid rim.
  • Food not cooking properly: Verify that the correct cooking time and pressure setting were selected for the type and quantity of food. Ensure the cooker reached full pressure.
  • Display not turning on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the cooker and the wall outlet. Ensure the outlet is functional.
