4.1 Starting the Engine
Follow these steps to start your lawn mower:

Figure 4.1: Starting the engine by pulling the recoil starter cord.
- Ensure the lawn mower is on a flat, level surface.
- Press the primer bulb (if equipped) 3-5 times until fuel is visible.
- Hold the engine stop lever (1 in Figure 2.2) firmly against the handlebar. The engine will not start unless this lever is held.
- Pull the recoil starter cord with a swift, continuous motion until the engine starts. Do not let the cord snap back.
- Once the engine starts, release the recoil starter cord slowly.
- To engage the rear-wheel drive, hold the drive lever (2 in Figure 2.2) against the handlebar. Release it to disengage.
4.2 Mowing
For best results, mow when the grass is dry. Overlap cutting swaths slightly to ensure even coverage.

- Turn off the engine and wait for the blade to stop completely.
- Locate the cutting height adjustment lever, typically near one of the rear wheels.
- Pull the lever outwards and move it to the desired height setting. The settings are usually numbered or indicated by notches.
- Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your lawn mower. Always disconnect the spark plug cap before performing any maintenance.
5.1 Cleaning
Clean the mower after each use, especially the cutting deck, to prevent grass buildup and corrosion.

Figure 5.1: Area under the cutting deck that requires regular cleaning to prevent grass buildup and maintain performance.
- Remove the grass collection bag and empty it.
- Tilt the mower onto its side (with the carburetor facing upwards to prevent oil leakage) and scrape off any accumulated grass clippings from the underside of the deck.
- Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use a high-pressure washer directly on the engine or electrical components.

Figure 5.2: The robust steel housing is designed to resist corrosion, contributing to the mower's longevity.
5.2 Blade Care
A sharp blade ensures a clean cut and healthy lawn. Inspect the blade regularly for sharpness and damage.
- If the blade is dull, it can be sharpened by a qualified service technician or replaced.
- If the blade is bent or damaged, it must be replaced immediately to prevent vibration and potential injury.
5.3 Storage
For long-term storage (over 30 days), prepare the mower as follows:
- Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Run the engine until it stops to consume all fuel in the carburetor.
- Change the engine oil.
- Clean the entire mower thoroughly.
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The folding handle allows for more compact storage.
