1. Introduction

The Godox X3 X3N Flash Trigger is an advanced touchscreen TTL wireless flash trigger designed for Nikon cameras. It offers effortless control over compatible Godox flashes, supporting TTL, multi-flash modes, and various sync options. 3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the components and controls of your Godox X3 X3N Flash Trigger.

3.1. Main Components

• Touchscreen Display: High-definition OLED screen for intuitive control.

4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Battery

The Godox X3 N features a built-in 850mAh rechargeable battery. Before first use, or when the battery indicator is low, charge the device using the included USB-C cable.

1. Connect the USB-C cable to the X3 N's USB-C port.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).
3. The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately two hours.

4.2. Mounting on Camera

The X3 N is designed with a robust hotshoe for secure and easy mounting on your camera.

1. Ensure your camera is turned off.
2. Slide the X3 N's hotshoe into your camera's hotshoe mount until it clicks into place.
3. If applicable, tighten the locking mechanism on the X3 N to secure it.

4.3. Powering On/Off

To power on the X3 N, long press the power switch located on the side. The Godox logo will appear, followed by the main control interface. To power off, long press the power switch again.

5. Operating Instructions

The Godox X3 N features a high-definition OLED touchscreen for intuitive control. You can navigate and adjust settings by swiping and tapping.

5.1. Adjusting Output Power (Manual Mode)

In Manual (M) mode, you can precisely control the flash output power.

1. From the main display, tap on the desired group (A, B, C, etc.) to enter its individual control screen.
2. Tap 'M' to ensure the group is in Manual mode.
3. Slide your finger left or right on the power value (e.g., 1/128) to quickly adjust it.
4. Alternatively, use the '+' and '-' buttons on the screen or rotate the select dial to fine-tune the power.

5.2. TTL Auto Flash and Exposure Compensation

The X3 N supports TTL (Through-The-Lens) auto flash for automatic exposure control.

1. From the individual group control screen, tap 'TTL' to switch to TTL mode.
2. Adjust Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC) from -3 to +3 EV using the '+' and '-' buttons or the select dial.

5.3. Sync Modes (HSS, First/Rear Curtain)

The X3 N supports various sync modes for different shooting scenarios.

• High-Speed Sync (HSS): Up to 1/8000 second, allowing you to use wider apertures in bright conditions.
• First Curtain Sync: Flash fires at the beginning of the exposure.
• Rear Curtain Sync: Flash fires at the end of the exposure, useful for creating motion blur effects.

To select a sync mode, navigate to the sync settings via the touchscreen menu.

5.4. Wireless X System and Channel/ID Settings

The X3 N is part of the Godox 2.4G X wireless system, offering a 328' wireless range.

• Channels (CH): Up to 32 channels are available to prevent interference.
• Wireless ID (ID): 99 wireless ID settings provide further interference reduction.
• Wireless Sync: A feature to automatically match the trigger and flash settings with one tap.

To adjust channels and IDs, access the Wireless Sync menu on the touchscreen. You can also use the scan function to find clear channels.

5.5. Modeling Lamp and Buzz Control

The X3 N allows for remote control of the modeling lamp on compatible flashes and features a customizable buzz function.

• Modeling Lamp: Access the modeling lamp control through the menu to turn it on/off or adjust its brightness.
• Buzz Function: The buzz sound can be turned on or off via the settings menu.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Godox X3 X3N Flash Trigger, follow these maintenance guidelines:
