Introduction
The FOTING FT-90054R is a powerful 1HP submersible sump pump designed for efficient water removal from various locations such as flooded basements, pools, hot tubs, and ponds. Constructed from full 304 stainless steel, it offers excellent durability and corrosion resistance. This pump features an automatic float switch for hands-free operation and can also be used in manual mode for continuous pumping. With a maximum flow rate of 4600 gallons per hour (GPH) and the ability to pump water down to 0.43 inches, it is a versatile tool for managing water levels.

Setup
Proper setup ensures optimal performance and safety of your FOTING sump pump. Follow these steps for installation:
- Attach Hose Adapter: The pump comes with two plastic adapters (GHT1-1/4" adapter and multi-hose adapter) to accommodate different hose sizes. Select the appropriate adapter for your discharge hose and securely thread it onto the pump's outlet. Ensure a tight seal to prevent leaks.
- Secure Hose: Connect your discharge hose to the chosen adapter. Use a hose clamp (not included) if necessary to ensure a secure connection, especially for high-pressure applications.
- Position the Pump: Place the pump in the area where water needs to be removed. The pump's design allows it to sit low to the ground, effectively draining water down to 0.43 inches. Ensure the intake holes at the base are clear of debris.
- Float Switch Placement: The automatic float switch is designed to activate the pump when water levels rise and deactivate it when levels drop. Ensure the float switch has enough clearance to move freely. For manual operation, the float switch can be locked in an upward position.
- Power Connection: Connect the 10-foot power cord to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for safety.

Operating Instructions
The FOTING sump pump offers both automatic and manual operating modes:
- Automatic Mode: In automatic mode, the pump will start when the water level rises above approximately 7 inches and will shut off when the water level drops below 1-1/2 inches. This ensures efficient and energy-saving operation without constant monitoring.
- Manual Mode: To activate manual mode, secure the float switch in an upward position using the integrated bracket. The pump will then run continuously as long as it is powered, regardless of water level. This mode is useful for situations requiring continuous drainage or to prevent dry running in specific scenarios.
The pump is capable of removing water down to a minimum suction level of 0.43 inches, making it highly effective for nearly complete drainage.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps prolong the life and efficiency of your sump pump:
- Inspect Intake: Periodically check the double-deck sucking holes at the pump base for any debris, leaves, or large particles that might obstruct water flow. Clear any blockages to ensure efficient operation.
- Clean Pump Exterior: The full 304 stainless steel housing is corrosion-resistant, but occasional cleaning of the exterior can prevent buildup and maintain its condition.
- Check Power Cord: Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, fraying, or wear. Replace if necessary to prevent electrical hazards.
- Test Float Switch: Regularly test the float switch by manually lifting it to ensure it activates and deactivates the pump correctly.

Troubleshooting
If your FOTING sump pump is not operating as expected, consider the following common issues and solutions:
- Pump Not Starting:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working, grounded GFCI outlet.
- Ensure the float switch is not obstructed and can move freely to activate the pump.
- Verify that the water level is high enough to trigger the automatic float switch (above 7 inches).
- Pump Running Continuously:
- Check if the float switch is stuck in the 'on' (upward) position or if it's locked for manual operation.
- Ensure the water level has dropped below the shut-off point (1-1/2 inches) for automatic mode.
- Low Water Flow or No Pumping:
- Inspect the pump's intake for blockages from debris.
- Check the discharge hose for kinks or obstructions.
- Ensure the pump is fully submerged and not drawing air.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact customer support.
