Before First Use

  1. Unpack the waffle maker and remove all packaging materials, including any protective films or inserts.
  2. Wipe the non-stick cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  3. Ensure the drip tray is properly inserted at the base of the unit.
  4. For the first use, it is recommended to operate the waffle maker empty for about 5-10 minutes to burn off any manufacturing oils. A slight odor or smoke may be present; this is normal and will dissipate. Ensure good ventilation.
  5. Allow the unit to cool completely before wiping it down again.

Operating Instructions

Making Waffles

  1. Plug the waffle maker into a standard electrical outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Set the browning control dial to your desired setting (1 for lighter, 6 for darker).
  3. Allow the waffle maker to preheat. The 'Ready' indicator light(s) will illuminate when the unit has reached the optimal cooking temperature. This typically takes a few minutes.
  4. Once preheated, open the waffle maker. Using the provided measuring cup, pour batter evenly onto the center of the bottom waffle plate. Do not overfill, as batter will expand.
  5. Carefully close the top waffle plate.
  6. Immediately rotate the waffle maker 180 degrees using the handle. This ensures even distribution of batter and consistent cooking.
  7. Allow the waffles to cook until the 'Ready' indicator light(s) illuminate again and/or the audible tone sounds. Cooking time will vary based on batter type and browning setting.
  8. Once cooked, rotate the waffle maker back to its upright position. Open the plates and carefully remove the waffles using a non-metallic utensil (e.g., silicone spatula) to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
  9. Close the waffle maker to maintain heat for subsequent batches.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your waffle maker.

  1. Always unplug the waffle maker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the dishwasher-safe drip tray and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. For the non-stick cooking plates, gently wipe them with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn batter residue, you may use a small amount of cooking oil to soften it, then wipe clean. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or metal utensils, as these will damage the non-stick coating.
  4. The exterior of the appliance can be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  5. Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing.
