SODSEA 52 Inch Ceiling Fan Instruction Manual

Model: 52-DY1212-BK-LIGHT

Safety Information

Please read and understand all instructions before beginning installation. Improper installation can lead to electric shock, fire, or personal injury. Always consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about any part of the installation process.

  • Ensure the power is disconnected at the circuit breaker before installation or maintenance.
  • All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes.
  • The mounting structure must be capable of supporting the fan's weight (approximately 17.46 pounds).
  • Do not use this fan with any variable speed wall control (rheostat).

Verify all components are present before beginning assembly:

  • Ceiling Fan Motor Housing
  • 5 Reversible Fan Blades (Black and Dark Wood Grain)
  • Remote Control

Setup & Installation

Follow these steps carefully for proper installation:

1. Prepare for Installation

Turn off power at the main circuit breaker. Remove any existing ceiling fan or light fixture. Ensure the electrical box is securely mounted and rated for fan support.

2. Install Mounting Bracket

3. Wiring the Fan

Carefully connect the fan's wiring to the house wiring. The DC Motor Controller (receiver) connects to the main power supply. Ensure all connections are secure using wire nuts.

  • Connect the green wire (ground) from the fan to the bare copper wire (ground) from the house.
  • Connect the white wire (neutral) from the fan to the white wire (neutral) from the house.
  • Connect the black wire (hot) from the fan to the black wire (hot) from the house. If there is a red wire from the house, cap it off as this fan uses a single hot wire for both fan and light control.
  • Ensure the small connector from the DC Motor Controller is fully pushed into its corresponding port on the fan unit.

4. Attaching Fan Blades

Select your desired blade finish (matte black or dark wood grain). Attach each blade to the fan's motor housing using the provided screws. Ensure to use the red washers between the blade and the screw head for proper seating and vibration reduction.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the fan blades and motor housing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Blade Balance: If the fan wobbles, check that all blade screws are tightened. Ensure blades are not warped.
  • Light Source: The LED light source is integrated and designed for long life. Do not attempt to replace individual LEDs.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, try these common solutions:

  • Fan Not Turning On: Check circuit breaker. Ensure all wiring connections are secure, especially the main power and the small connector to the DC Motor Controller.
  • Remote Not Working: Replace remote batteries. Re-pair the remote with the fan according to the pairing instructions (usually involves pressing a button on the remote within a few seconds of turning on the fan's power).
  • Light Not Working: Check light switch. Ensure light panel connection is secure.
  • Fan Wobbles: Ensure all blade screws are tight. Check that the mounting bracket is securely fastened to the ceiling.
