Setup
1. Wiring Connections
- Connect LED Strip: Connect your RGB LED light strip to the 4-pin output connector of the controller. Ensure the polarity (R, G, B, V+) matches correctly.
- Connect Power Supply: Connect a compatible DC12V-24V power supply (not included) to the DC input jack of the controller.
- Power On: Plug the power supply into a wall outlet. The LED strip should briefly light up, indicating power.
Important: Always ensure the power supply is disconnected before making or changing any wiring connections.
2. App Installation
- Download App: Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" in your mobile device's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play Store for Android) and download the application.
- Register/Login: Open the app and register for a new account or log in with an existing one.
3. Device Pairing
- Enter Pairing Mode: With the controller powered on, press and hold the button on the controller for approximately 5-10 seconds until the LED strip starts flashing rapidly. This indicates the controller is in pairing mode.
- Add Device in App: Open the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a device.
- Select Device Type: Choose "Lighting" or "Light Source (Wi-Fi)" from the device list.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Confirm that the LED strip is flashing rapidly. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network name and password. (Note: 5GHz Wi-Fi networks are not supported.)
- Pairing: The app will begin searching for the device. Once found, the LED strip will stop flashing and remain steadily lit.
- Rename Device: After successful pairing, you can rename the controller for easier identification (e.g., "Living Room LED Strip").
Operating Instructions
1. Using the Tuya Smart / Smart Life App
Once the controller is paired with the app, you can access various control functions:
- Color Selection: Choose from a wide spectrum of colors using the color wheel or predefined color palettes.
- Brightness Adjustment: Adjust the intensity of the light from 0% to 100%.
- Scene Modes: Select from various dynamic scene modes (e.g., Party, Reading, Relax) or create custom scenes.
- Timer/Schedule: Set schedules for the LED strip to turn on/off or change modes at specific times.
- Group Control: If you have multiple Tuya-compatible devices, you can group them for simultaneous control.
- Voice Control: Integrate with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for hands-free control (requires additional setup within the app).
2. Manual Control (Button on Controller)
The physical button on the controller provides basic control:
- Single Press: Toggles the LED strip On/Off.
- Long Press (5-10 seconds): Enters pairing mode (LED strip flashes rapidly).
Maintenance
- Keep the controller clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the controller to prevent overheating.
Troubleshooting
