Setup
Power Connection
- Ensure the mixer's power switch (17) is in the OFF position.
- Connect the provided 12V power adapter to the Power Socket (18) on the rear of the mixer.
- Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Turn the Power Switch (17) to the ON position. The power indicator light will illuminate.
Connecting Audio Devices
The KP4 mixer offers various input and output options for different audio setups.
- Microphones: Connect dynamic or condenser microphones to the Mic Input (1) using XLR cables. If using a condenser microphone, activate the +48V Phantom Power Switch (2) for the respective channel.
- Line-Level Instruments/Devices: Connect instruments like keyboards, guitars (with a DI box), or other audio devices to the Line Input (3) using 1/4-inch (6.35mm) cables. For channels 3/4, you can also use the Lotus Socket (10) (RCA inputs).
- Main Outputs: Connect the Main Output Socket (11) (XLR) to your power amplifier or active speakers using XLR cables.
- Monitor Speakers/Headphones: Connect monitor speakers to the Monitoring Socket (12) or headphones to the Phones output for real-time audio monitoring.
Operating Instructions
Basic Audio Mixing
- Gain Adjustment: For each input channel, adjust the Gain Knob (4) to set the input level. Aim for the signal to be strong but avoid clipping (indicated by the PEAK LED).
- Equalization (EQ): Use the High/Mid/Low Knobs (6) to shape the tone of each channel. Adjust these to enhance or cut specific frequencies.
- Channel Volume: Use the Volume Adjustment (7) faders for each channel to set the individual volume levels in your mix.
- Main Output Volume: Adjust the Main Volume Adjustment (15) faders to control the overall output volume sent to your main speakers.
USB/Computer Connection
The XTUGA KP4 can be connected to a computer via USB to function as an audio interface for recording and playback.

To connect:
- Connect a USB cable from the mixer's USB port to your computer.
- Your computer should recognize the mixer as an audio device. Select it as your input/output device in your operating system's sound settings or your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software.
- Use the MP3 Control (13) section for USB playback (from a USB drive) or to record your mix directly to a USB drive (MP3 REC function).
Bluetooth Connectivity
The mixer supports wireless audio streaming via Bluetooth from compatible devices.

To pair your device:
- On the mixer's MP3 Control (13) section, press the "MENU" button to enter the mode selection.
- Navigate to the Bluetooth mode. The display will show "BT-5.0".
- On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "BT-5.0" from the list of devices to pair.
- Once paired, audio from your device will be routed through channels 3/4 of the mixer.
DSP Effects
The KP4 features a built-in 16-bit digital stereo effects processor with 16 different effects.

To use the effects:
- Use the Program Knob (14) to select one of the 16 available effects. The selected effect number will be displayed.
- Adjust the "FX TO AUX1" knob to send the desired amount of signal from each channel to the effects processor.
- Use the "REPEAT" knob to adjust the feedback or decay time of the selected effect.
- The "RETURNS" knob controls the overall level of the effects returned to the main mix.
+48V Phantom Power
Phantom power is required for condenser microphones. The KP4 provides independent +48V phantom power for its XLR inputs.

To activate:
- Ensure the microphone is connected to the Mic Input (1).
- Press the +48V Phantom Power Switch (2) for the corresponding channel. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Always connect the microphone before activating phantom power and disconnect after deactivating to prevent damage to equipment.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Always disconnect the power adapter before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the mixer.
- For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as they may damage the finish.
Storage
- Store the mixer in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Protect the unit from dust and moisture. Consider using a dust cover if storing for extended periods.
- Avoid placing heavy objects on top of the mixer.
Safety Guidelines
- Do not expose the mixer to rain or moisture.
- Do not open the casing; there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the unit during operation.
- Use only the provided power adapter.
