Setup

1. Track Assembly

The set includes 24 curved and 8 straight plastic track pieces, allowing for three different layout configurations:

• 73.2 in x 50 in Oval
• 47.75 in Circle
• 53 in x 53 in Rounded Square

Carefully connect the track pieces by aligning the connectors and pressing them firmly together until they click into place. Ensure the track is laid on a flat, stable surface to prevent derailment during operation.

2. Battery Installation

The locomotive requires (6) C Cell Batteries for operation (not included). Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the locomotive. Open the compartment, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-), and securely close the cover.

3. Water Vapor Smoke Effect Setup

To activate the water vapor smoke effect, use the provided water bottle dropper to carefully add a small amount of clean water into the designated reservoir on the locomotive. Do not overfill. The smoke effect is generated by water vapor and is safe.

Operating the Train Set

Control Methods

Your train set offers two primary control methods:

• Lionel Bluetooth Control: Download the Lionel CAB3 App from your device's app store. Once installed and connected via Bluetooth, you can control the train's speed, direction, and activate various sounds and features directly from your smartphone or tablet.
• Conventional Mode: A 3-Position switch located on the top of the engine allows for basic forward, stop, and reverse operation without the need for the app.

• Working Headlight: The locomotive features a bright LED headlight for realistic operation.
• Engine Cab Light: An internal light illuminates the engine cab.
• Water-Vapor Smoke Effects: Smoke will emit from the smokestack, accompanied by a flickering LED for added realism.
• Authentic Train Sounds: Enjoy movie sound clip announcements, bell, and whistle sounds.
• Fixed Knuckle Couplers: Ensure all train cars are securely connected using the fixed knuckle couplers before operation.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the train set components with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Battery Care: To prolong battery life and prevent corrosion, remove all batteries from the locomotive when the train set is not in use for an extended period.
• Storage: Store the train set in its original packaging or a suitable container in a cool, dry place to protect it from dust and damage.

Troubleshooting

• Train Not Moving:
  • Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted.
  • Check that all track pieces are securely connected and form a complete circuit.
  • Verify the locomotive is properly seated on the tracks.
• Smoke Effect Not Working:
  • Ensure sufficient water has been added to the reservoir using the dropper.
  • Check that the train has been running for a short period to allow the heating element to warm up.
• Bluetooth Connectivity Issues:
  • Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smart device.
  • Ensure the train is powered on and within range of your device.
  • Try restarting the app and the train.
• Derailment:
  • Ensure the track is laid on a completely flat and stable surface.
  • Check that all wheels are properly on the track.
  • Reduce train speed on curves if frequent derailments occur.
