4. Setup

4.1 Power Connection

Connect the provided power supply to the mixer's DC input port and then to a suitable power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting. Once connected, switch the power ON.

4.2 Input Connections (XLR/Line)

The mixer features gold-plated XLR and balanced line input interfaces for microphones and other audio sources. Connect your microphones using XLR cables or line-level instruments using 1/4-inch (6.35mm) TRS cables to the respective input jacks.

4.3 Main Output Connections

Connect your main speakers or recording interface to the L MAIN OUT R (Left Main Output Right) XLR or 1/4-inch TRS output jacks. Ensure proper cable types are used for balanced connections to minimize noise.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Channel Controls

Each channel on the AX-120 mixer features independent controls for optimal sound shaping:

  • GAIN: Adjusts the input sensitivity for each channel. For best results and lowest noise floor, set channel volume (fader) to minimum, increase gain until desired signal level is achieved, then raise the fader.
  • 3-Band EQ (HF, MF, LF): High, Mid, and Low frequency adjustments allow you to tailor the tone of each input.
  • AUX: Controls the send level to the auxiliary output for external effects or monitoring.
  • FX: Controls the send level to the internal effects processor.
  • PAN: Adjusts the stereo position of the channel's signal (Left to Right).
  • FADER: Controls the output volume of each individual channel.

5.2 +48V Phantom Power

The AX-120 provides +48V phantom power for condenser microphones. To activate, press the PHANTOM button. A red LED indicator will illuminate. Ensure condenser microphones are connected before activating phantom power to prevent damage to other devices.

5.3 Bluetooth Connectivity

The mixer supports integrated Bluetooth playback. To connect, press the mode button on the digital MP3 player section to switch to Bluetooth mode. Search for "BT-Speaker" on your external device (e.g., smartphone, tablet) and pair. The mixer will then play audio wirelessly from your device.

5.4 USB Playback and Recording

The mixer features a built-in MP3 player and recorder, compatible with MP3, WAV, and WMA formats. It also supports computer recording and sound editing via USB.

  • USB Playback: Insert a USB flash drive with audio files into the USB port. Use the controls on the digital MP3 player to navigate and play tracks.
  • Computer Connection: Connect the mixer to your computer via a USB cable for recording and editing. The mixer will act as an audio interface.

5.5 Effects (FX)

The mixer includes built-in effects such as delay and repetition. Use the FX knob on each channel to send a portion of that channel's signal to the effects processor. The main EFFECTS fader controls the overall output level of the effects.

5.6 Monitoring

The 6.35mm monitor jack allows for real-time monitoring of your mix using headphones. Adjust the headphone volume control to a comfortable listening level.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Sound Output:
    • Check all cable connections (inputs, outputs, power).
    • Ensure the main output faders and individual channel faders are raised.
    • Verify that the correct input source is selected (e.g., Bluetooth, USB).
    • Check if the power indicator is on.
  • Humming or Buzzing Noise:
