2. Setup
2.1 What's in the Box
- ThermoPro TempSpike XR Signal Amplifier
- USB Type-C Charging Cable
- Built-in Lithium Ion Battery
2.2 Charging the Amplifier
Before initial use, fully charge the signal amplifier. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the amplifier and plug the other end into a standard USB power adapter (not included). The battery indicator LED will show charging status. A full charge provides approximately 40 hours or more of operation.

2.3 Compatibility and Connection
This signal amplifier is designed exclusively for use with the ThermoPro TempSpike XR wireless meat thermometer system (ASIN: B0CRY9V6LL). It cannot be used as a standalone device. The amplifier automatically connects to your TempSpike XR probes and receiver when powered on and within range, extending the overall signal path.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Power On/Off
- To power on: Press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds.
- To power off: Press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds.
3.2 Signal Indicator
The signal indicator LED provides visual feedback on the connection status:
- Flashes Green: Indicates that the amplifier is receiving a signal from the TempSpike XR probe. This occurs every four seconds.
- Flashes Red: Indicates that no signal is being received from the TempSpike XR probe. This occurs every four seconds.

3.3 Optimal Placement for Range Extension
For maximum range and signal stability, position the signal amplifier between your TempSpike XR probes (in the smoker/grill) and the TempSpike XR receiver. The amplifier can extend the range from the probes by up to 1000 feet in open air. When combined with the receiver, the total range can reach up to 2000 feet. Note that signal range may be reduced when the grill lid is closed (approximately 90 feet from probes to booster).

3.4 Automatic Power-Off
To conserve battery life, the amplifier will automatically shut off after 40 minutes of not receiving any signal from the probes.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Wipe the amplifier clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
4.2 Water Resistance
The amplifier has an IPX6 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against powerful water jets. It is resistant to splashes and rain but should not be submerged in water.

4.3 Storage Options
The amplifier is designed with two convenient storage options:
- Hang Hole: A built-in hole allows you to hang the device on a hook.
- Built-in Magnet: A strong magnet on the back allows for attachment to metallic surfaces, such as a grill or refrigerator.

5. Troubleshooting
- No Signal or Weak Signal:
- Ensure the amplifier is fully charged.
- Verify that the TempSpike XR probes and receiver are powered on and functioning correctly.
- Adjust the placement of the amplifier to be directly between the probes and the receiver, minimizing obstructions.
- Confirm that the amplifier is compatible with your specific TempSpike XR system (ASIN: B0CRY9V6LL).
- Amplifier Not Charging:
- Check the USB Type-C cable for damage and ensure it is securely connected to both the amplifier and the power source.
- Try a different USB power adapter or port.
