Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install the Primo Viaggio Nido car seat base in your vehicle using the vehicle's seat belt. Ensure your vehicle is parked on level ground before beginning installation.

1. Unfold Load Leg: Unfold the load leg from the bottom of the base until it clicks into the down position.
2. Position Base: Place the base rear-facing in the back seat of your vehicle.
3. Check Level Indicator: Verify the level indicator at the top of the base. Rotate the knob to adjust the base angle according to your child's weight, ensuring the bubble is within the appropriate range.

4. Open Right Tight Lock Off: Open the Right Tight lock off mechanism on the base.
5. Switch Seatbelt to ALR: Pull the vehicle's seatbelt all the way out to switch it to Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) mode.
6. Thread Lap Portion: Thread the lap portion of the seatbelt through the designated belt path on the base.
7. Lock Vehicle Belt: Lock the vehicle belt into its buckle.
8. Thread Shoulder Strap: Thread the shoulder strap back through the belt guide.
9. Tighten Belt: Press down firmly on the base while pulling the shoulder strap to remove all slack.
10. Close Right Tight Lock Off: Close the Right Tight lock off to secure the seatbelt.
11. Check for Tightness: Push and pull on the base at the belt path. The base should not move more than 1 inch side-to-side or front-to-back. If it moves more, re-tighten the belt.
12. Extend Load Leg: Extend the Load Leg until it firmly touches the floor of the vehicle.
13. Snap Car Seat into Base: Align the car seat with the base and snap it securely into place. Listen for a click to confirm proper attachment.
14. Move Handle: Move the car seat handle to the rear-most position behind the car seat by pressing the grey buttons on the handle pivots.

• SIP Headrest Adjustment: The SIP (Side Impact Protection) headrest can be easily adjusted to 6 different positions without re-threading the harness, even with the infant in the seat. This ensures a proper and safe fit as your child grows.
• Extendable Pagoda Hood: The hood features an easy-to-use zipper that allows it to extend forward, providing near-complete coverage and shielding your baby from the elements. It also includes mesh side netting for ventilation to maintain airflow. The fabric is UPF 50+ for sun protection.

• Dual Stage Cushion System: This system includes two cushions designed to grow with your baby. Stage 1 provides extra support for a newborn's neck and bottom (for infants 4 lbs and up). Stage 2 is enlarged to offer increased protection and comfort for a growing baby. Both cushions are made of soft and breathable Fresco Jersey fabric.

• Baseless Installation: The car seat features a European belt path and an innovative handlebar belt path, allowing for easy installation without the base. In this configuration, the handle can also act as an anti-rebound bar.

• Fabric Care: The Fresco Jersey fabric is naturally fire retardant and breathable. Refer to the care labels on the fabric for specific cleaning instructions. Generally, fabrics can be spot cleaned with mild soap and water.

Troubleshooting

• Base Not Tight: If the base moves more than 1 inch at the belt path, ensure the vehicle seatbelt is fully extended to activate ALR mode (if applicable) and pull all slack out while pressing down firmly on the base before closing the Right Tight lock off.
