4. Setup

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Shredder Operation

  1. Power On: Locate the power switch on the top of the shredder and set it to the "On" position.
  2. Insert Materials: Insert up to 8 sheets of paper (or one credit card, staple, or small paper clip) into the paper entry slot. The shredder will automatically start and stop.
  3. Continuous Operation: The shredder can operate continuously for up to 5 minutes. After this period, allow a 30-minute cool-down period before resuming operation to prevent overheating.
  4. Emptying the Waste Bin: When the waste bin is full (holds up to 205 shredded sheets), lift off the shredder head and empty the contents. Replace the head securely before continuing.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Oiling the Shredder

Regular oiling with Fellowes Powershred Performance Shredder Oil is crucial for maintaining optimal performance and extending the life of your shredder's cutters. This is especially important for micro-cut shredders.

  1. Frequency: Oil the shredder each time you empty the wastebasket, or at a minimum, twice a month.
  2. Application: Apply a continuous bead of oil across the paper entry slot.
  3. Run Shredder: After applying oil, run the shredder in reverse for 10 seconds to distribute the oil evenly across the cutters.
