Setup and Installation
The LD218 mount offers two primary installation methods: side mount and floor mount. Choose the method that best suits your application.
1. Choose Installation Method

Figure 2: Available Installation Methods.
This image illustrates the two distinct installation options for the LD218 monitor mount: a side mount, which attaches to a vertical surface, and a floor mount, which secures to a horizontal surface.
- Side Mount: Ideal for attaching to the side of a sofa, bed frame, or other furniture.
- Floor Mount: Suitable for securing the mount directly to the floor next to a chair or bed.
2. Assemble the Column Pole and Base
Attach the chosen mounting base (side or floor) to the bottom of the 800mm column pole using the provided screws. Ensure a secure and stable connection.
3. Secure the Mount to the Desired Surface
Position the assembled column and base at your desired location. Mark the drilling points through the holes in the base. Drill pilot holes if necessary, then secure the base firmly to the floor or side surface using appropriate fasteners (not always included, depending on surface material).

Figure 3: Example Installation with Sofa.
This image demonstrates the LD218 monitor mount installed adjacent to a sofa, showcasing its application in a living or entertainment space. The monitor is attached to the arm, positioned for comfortable viewing from the sofa.
4. Attach the Gas Spring Arm Assembly
Slide the gas spring arm assembly onto the column pole. Ensure it is oriented correctly and can move freely up and down the pole. Tighten any securing screws on the arm to fix its vertical position if desired, or allow it to slide for height adjustment.
5. Mount the Monitor
- Attach the VESA plate to the back of your monitor using the screws appropriate for your monitor's VESA pattern (75x75mm or 100x100mm).
- Carefully slide the monitor (with the attached VESA plate) onto the arm's VESA mounting head. Secure it with the locking mechanism or screws as per the design.
Ensure the monitor is securely attached before releasing it.
Operating Instructions
The LD218 monitor mount is designed for flexible positioning of your display.
Adjusting Monitor Position
- Height Adjustment: The gas spring arm allows for smooth vertical movement. Gently push or pull the monitor to the desired height. If the arm does not hold its position, the gas spring tension may need adjustment (see Maintenance section).
- Tilt Adjustment: The monitor can be tilted 180 degrees (from -90 to +90 degrees relative to horizontal). Loosen the tilt knob/screw, adjust the angle, and then re-tighten.
- Swivel Adjustment: The arm can swivel -90 to +90 degrees horizontally. Gently rotate the monitor to the desired viewing angle.
- Arm Extension/Retraction: The articulated arm allows you to extend or retract the monitor from the pole.

Figure 4: LD218 Dimensions and Range of Motion.
This diagram illustrates the key dimensions of the LD218 monitor mount, including the 80cm column height and the 60cm arm extension. It also visually represents the range of motion for the gas spring arm, showing how the monitor can be positioned.
Cable Management
Utilize the integrated cable management clips or channels along the arm and pole to route your monitor cables neatly. This helps maintain a clean appearance and prevents cable damage.

Figure 5: Cable Management Feature.
This image highlights the cable management system integrated into the LD218 monitor mount, showing how cables can be neatly routed along the arm and pole for a tidy setup. Both silver and black variants are shown with their respective cable routing paths.
Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. Re-tighten as necessary.
- Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
- Gas Spring Tension Adjustment: If the monitor sags or rises too easily, the gas spring tension may need adjustment. Use the provided Allen key to turn the adjustment screw (usually located on the arm near the VESA plate or the main pivot) clockwise to increase tension for heavier monitors, or counter-clockwise to decrease tension for lighter monitors. Adjust gradually until the monitor holds its position.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Monitor sags or won't stay at desired height. | Gas spring tension is too low for monitor weight. | Increase gas spring tension (clockwise) using the Allen key. |
| Monitor is difficult to move vertically. | Gas spring tension is too high for monitor weight. | Decrease gas spring tension (counter-clockwise) using the Allen key. |
| Monitor wobbles or feels unstable. | Loose connections or improper installation. | Check all screws and bolts, especially at the base and arm joints. Ensure the mount is securely fastened to the floor/side. |
| VESA plate does not fit monitor. | Monitor VESA pattern is not 75x75mm or 100x100mm. | Verify your monitor's VESA compatibility. This mount supports 75x75mm and 100x100mm. |
