Operating Instructions
Your Sytas Ergonomic Office Chair offers multiple adjustment features for personalized comfort.
1. Seat Height Adjustment
To adjust the seat height, locate the lever on the right side beneath the seat. Pull the lever upwards while seated to lower the seat. To raise the seat, stand up and pull the lever upwards. Release the lever at the desired height to lock it in place.
2. Recline Function and Tilt Lock

Figure 2: Recline and Tilt Adjustment. This image demonstrates the chair's ability to recline to 90 degrees (focused work), 120 degrees (leisure), and 135 degrees (midday nap), along with the tilt tension knob and height adjust recline lock lever.
The chair features a tilt function with three recline angles: 90°, 120°, and 145°. Use the same lever as the seat height adjustment. Push the lever inwards to unlock the tilt function, allowing the backrest to recline. Pull the lever outwards to lock the backrest at your desired angle. The chair supports angles for focused work (90°), leisure (120°), and deep recline (145°).
Tilt Tension Adjustment: A round knob located beneath the seat allows you to adjust the tension of the recline. Turn clockwise to increase tension (making it harder to recline) and counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to recline).
3. Armrest Adjustment

Figure 3: Armrest Adjustment. This image highlights the adjustable PU soft armrests, demonstrating their vertical movement range of up to 3.3 inches for customized support.
The armrests can be adjusted vertically by up to 3 inches. Locate the button on the side of each armrest. Press the button and slide the armrest up or down to your preferred height. Release the button to lock the armrest in position.
4. Headrest Adjustment

Figure 4: Headrest Adjustment. This image illustrates the headrest's ability to lift 2 inches vertically and rotate 45 degrees, providing flexible neck support.
The mesh headrest is adjustable both vertically and rotationally. To adjust the height, gently pull the headrest up or push it down. It can lift approximately 2 inches. To adjust the angle, rotate the headrest up to 45 degrees to find the most comfortable position for your neck.
5. Lumbar Support

Figure 5: Ergonomic Lumbar Support. This image details the independent lumbar support system, designed to provide precise relief and optimize ventilation for the lower back.
The chair features an independent lumbar support designed to conform to the natural curve of your spine, relieving pressure. This support is integrated into the backrest and automatically adjusts to provide optimal support.
Maintenance and Care
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Sytas Ergonomic Office Chair.
- Cleaning: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. For mesh and fabric areas, use a mild soap solution if necessary, then wipe with a clean, damp cloth and allow to air dry. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain stability and safety.
- Casters: Clean casters regularly to remove dust, hair, and debris that can impede smooth movement.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of 300 lbs (approximately 136 kg).
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the chair to direct sunlight for prolonged periods or extreme temperatures, as this may cause material degradation.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your chair, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Chair wobbles or is unstable. | Loose screws or uneven assembly. | Check and tighten all assembly screws. Ensure the chair is on a flat surface. |
| Seat height adjustment not working. | Gas lift issue or lever malfunction. | Ensure the lever is fully engaged. If the issue persists, the gas lift may need replacement. Contact customer support. |
| Chair does not recline or lock. | Tilt mechanism locked or tension too high. | Ensure the tilt lock lever is disengaged. Adjust the tilt tension knob counter-clockwise to loosen. |
| Casters not rolling smoothly. | Debris caught in casters. | Turn the chair over and remove any hair, dust, or debris from the caster wheels. |
| Squeaking noises. | Loose connections or friction between parts. | Tighten all screws. Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to moving parts if necessary, avoiding contact with fabric. |
