2. General Safety Instructions
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
2.1. Work Area Safety
- Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2.2. Electrical Safety
- Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
2.3. Personal Safety
- Always wear eye protection. Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts.
- Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

4. Setup and Assembly
Before operating the drill press, ensure it is properly assembled and securely mounted.
4.1. Unpacking
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Check for any damage during transit. If any parts are damaged or missing, contact customer support.
- Ensure all included accessories, such as the assembly tool, are present.
4.2. Mounting the Drill Press
- Place the robust steel base of the drill press on a stable and level workbench.
- Secure the drill press to the workbench using appropriate mounting hardware (not included). Ensure it is firmly bolted down to prevent movement during operation.
- Connect the power cable to a suitable 230V AC power outlet.
4.3. Attaching the Chip Guard
Attach the foldable transparent chip guard to the designated position on the drill press. This guard helps protect against flying debris during drilling operations.
5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your drill press.
5.1. Preparing for Drilling
- Select the Right Drill Bit: Choose a drill bit appropriate for the material (wood, metal, plastic) and desired hole size. Insert it securely into the 1-13 mm drill chuck using the provided assembly tool.
- Adjust Work Table Height and Angle: Loosen the locking mechanism for the drill table. Adjust the table to the desired height and angle (up to 45° on both sides) for your workpiece. Securely tighten the locking mechanism.
- Secure the Workpiece: Always clamp your workpiece firmly to the drill table using appropriate clamps. Never hold the workpiece by hand during drilling.
- Set Drilling Depth: Use the continuously adjustable depth scale to set the desired drilling depth. This prevents drilling too deep.
- Activate Laser Cross and Work Light: Switch on the integrated work light for better visibility and the laser cross for precise marking of the drilling point. Adjust the laser cross as needed.
5.2. Adjusting Speed
The drill press features continuously variable speed control from 450 to 2600 RPM. Adjust the speed according to the material and drill bit size. The digital display will show the current drilling speed.
- Lower speeds are generally suitable for harder materials (e.g., metal) and larger drill bits.
- Higher speeds are suitable for softer materials (e.g., wood, plastic) and smaller drill bits.
5.3. Drilling Operation
- Ensure the chip guard is in place.
- Switch on the drill press.
- Using the lowering lever, slowly and steadily bring the drill bit down into the workpiece. Apply even pressure.
- Allow the drill bit to cut through the material. Do not force the drill.
- Once the desired depth is reached, retract the drill bit slowly using the lowering lever. The spring return will assist.
- Switch off the drill press after completing the operation.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your drill press.
6.1. Cleaning
- Always disconnect the drill press from the power supply before cleaning.
- Clean the machine regularly, especially after use, to remove dust, chips, and debris. Use a brush or compressed air.
- Wipe down external surfaces with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Keep the ventilation openings clear to prevent overheating.
6.2. Lubrication
Periodically lubricate moving parts as recommended in the full manufacturer's manual (if available) to ensure smooth operation.
6.3. Inspection
- Inspect the power cable for any signs of damage. Replace damaged cables immediately.
- Check the drill chuck for wear and ensure it grips drill bits securely.
- Ensure all bolts and fasteners are tight.
- Check the V-belt for tension and wear. Adjust or replace if necessary.
