Setup
- Charge the Battery: The BirdyCam features a built-in lithium battery and a double solar panel for continuous power. For initial use or after prolonged storage, it is recommended to fully charge the device via the provided USB cable. Connect the USB cable to the camera's port and a suitable power source.
- Insert SD Card: Locate the SD card slot (typically near the camera controls). Insert a compatible SD card (not included) for storing photos and videos. Ensure it is inserted correctly until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions
The BirdyCam is designed for automatic operation. Once set up, it will detect motion and capture media.
- Automatic Motion Detection: The device is equipped with a high-sensitivity PIR sensor that detects movement within a 3-meter radius. When motion is detected, the camera triggers automatically.
- Trigger Time: The camera has a rapid trigger time of approximately 0.8 seconds, ensuring that fast-moving subjects are captured effectively.
- Video and Photo Modes: The BirdyCam can record HD video and take photos up to 12 MP resolution. You can typically configure the capture mode (photo, video, or photo+video) through the device's internal menu, accessible via the 1.44-inch (3.6 cm) display.
- Viewing Media: Captured photos and videos are stored on the inserted SD card. To view them, you can either connect the BirdyCam to a computer using the USB cable or remove the SD card and insert it into a card reader.

Maintenance
- Cleaning the Feeder: Regularly clean the food and water compartments to prevent mold and bacterial growth, which can be harmful to birds. Use mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and ensure it is completely dry before refilling.
- Cleaning Solar Panels: Keep the solar panels clean and free of dirt, dust, and debris to ensure optimal charging efficiency. Gently wipe them with a soft, damp cloth.
- Battery Care: While the solar panels provide continuous power, during prolonged periods of bad weather or low sunlight, the integrated lithium battery may require recharging via the USB cable.
- Camera Lens: Periodically check and clean the camera lens to ensure clear image and video quality. Use a soft, lint-free cloth designed for optics.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Camera not recording or taking photos. | SD card full or not inserted correctly; low battery; motion sensor obstructed or faulty. | Check SD card, format if necessary, or replace. Charge battery via USB. Ensure clear line of sight for PIR sensor. |
| Poor image/video quality. | Dirty lens; insufficient light; camera settings. | Clean the camera lens. Ensure adequate lighting. Check camera settings via the display. |
| Battery not charging. | Solar panels dirty or obstructed; insufficient sunlight; faulty USB cable/port. | Clean solar panels. Relocate to an area with more direct sunlight. Try charging with a different USB cable or port. |
| Camera triggers too frequently without animals. | PIR sensor sensitivity too high; moving foliage or objects in detection zone. | Adjust PIR sensor sensitivity settings if available. Clear any moving branches or objects from the immediate detection area. |
