Setup

  1. Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment on both the transmitter and receiver units. Insert the required batteries (typically 9V, not included) according to the polarity markings. Close the compartments securely.
  2. Power On: Turn on both the transmitter and receiver units using their respective ON/OFF switches.

Operating Instructions

1. Wire Tracing

2. Wire Mapping (Cable Fault Testing)

This mode checks for common cable faults in RJ45 and RJ11 cables.

  1. Connect one end of the network cable to the RJ45 port on the transmitter and the other end to the RJ45 port on the receiver.
  2. Turn on both units. On the transmitter, select the 'TEST' or 'SCAN' mode.
  3. Observe the LED indicators on both units. They will light up sequentially, indicating the status of each wire pair.
  4. Interpretation:
    • Matching sequential lights: Good connection.
    • Lights skipping or not illuminating: Open circuit.
    • Multiple lights illuminating simultaneously: Short circuit.
    • Lights illuminating in a different sequence: Miswire or reversed pair.

3. Using the LED Flashlight

The receiver unit features an integrated LED flashlight for improved visibility in low-light conditions.

  2. Press the button to turn the LED flashlight on or off.

4. Volume Control

The receiver unit has a volume control dial to adjust the loudness of the tracing tone.

  1. Rotate the dial on the receiver unit clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
