Setup and Binding

Before operating your P10FG receiver, it must be properly connected and bound to your DUMBORC transmitter. Follow these steps carefully:

1. Connecting the Receiver:

Connect the receiver to your RC model's power source (4.8-10V DC) and connect your servos, ESC, and other components to the appropriate channels (1-10) on the receiver. Ensure correct polarity for all connections.

2. Binding Procedure:

  1. Ensure your DUMBORC transmitter is turned off.
  2. Connect a bind plug (not included, typically comes with transmitter) to the "BIND" port on the P10FG receiver.
  3. Power on the receiver. The LED on the receiver should start flashing rapidly, indicating it is in binding mode.
  4. Turn on your DUMBORC transmitter.
  5. The LED on the receiver should turn solid, indicating a successful bind.
  6. Turn off the receiver, then remove the bind plug.
  7. Turn off the transmitter.
  8. Power on the transmitter first, then the receiver. The receiver should now be bound and ready for operation.

3. Initial Gyro Setup (P10FG model):

For models with the built-in gyro function (P10FG), you may need to adjust its settings. Refer to the "Operating Instructions" section for details on gyro calibration and adjustment.

Operating Instructions

The P10FG receiver offers several advanced functions accessible via button presses on the receiver itself, often in conjunction with your DUMBORC transmitter.

Figure 3: P10FG Receiver illustrating the functions associated with short and long presses of the left and right buttons. These buttons control gyro direction, gyro on/off, EPA, code checking, runaway protection, light control, and PPM mode activation.

Button Definitions:

Left Button Definition:

  1. Short press once: Switches between forward and reverse directions of the gyroscope.
  2. Short press 3 times: Turns the gyroscope on/off.
  3. Long press: Sets EPA (End Point Adjustment).

Right Button Definition:

  1. Long press for 3 seconds: Checks the code (for binding verification).
  2. Short press once: Sets runaway protection (failsafe).
  3. Short press twice: Controls any channel light (if connected).
  4. Short press 3 times: Activates PPM mode.

Voltage Return Function:

The P10FG receiver supports 40M Voltage Return, allowing you to monitor the voltage of your model's battery directly from your compatible DUMBORC transmitter. Refer to your transmitter's manual for specific instructions on how to display this information.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable performance of your DUMBORC P10FG receiver.

  • Cleaning: Keep the receiver clean and free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the receiver in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When not in use for extended periods, disconnect it from the power source.
  • Connections: Regularly inspect all wire connections for signs of wear, corrosion, or looseness. Ensure all plugs are securely seated in their respective ports.
  • Antenna: Ensure the receiver antenna is not kinked, cut, or damaged. A damaged antenna can significantly reduce range and signal reliability.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your P10FG receiver, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Receiver not binding.Incorrect binding procedure, transmitter not in bind mode, or bind plug not properly inserted.Review the "Binding Procedure" in the Setup section. Ensure the bind plug is fully inserted and the transmitter is in bind mode. Try rebinding.
No response from model.Receiver not powered, not bound, or incorrect servo/ESC connections.Check power supply to receiver. Verify successful binding. Ensure all connections (servos, ESC) are correct and secure.
Gyro function not working (P10FG).Gyro is turned off, incorrect settings, or a faulty unit.Short press the left button 3 times to toggle the gyro on/off. Check your transmitter settings for gyro sensitivity. If issues persist, contact support.
Limited range or signal loss.Damaged antenna, interference, or receiver placed in a shielded location.Inspect receiver antenna for damage. Ensure antenna is positioned optimally and not obstructed by carbon fiber or metal. Avoid operating near strong interference sources.
