4. Installation Instructions
Before beginning installation, ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker. Wear appropriate safety gear.
4.1 Prepare Ceiling Opening

Image: Diagram illustrating the required ceiling opening dimensions for the fan housing.
- Measure the existing ceiling opening. If replacing an old fan, ensure the opening is large enough to accommodate the new fan housing dimensions: 7.75 inches (L) x 7.5 inches (W) x 5.75 inches (H).
- If installing in a new location or if the existing opening is too small, carefully cut a new opening in the ceiling measuring 7-3/4 inches by 7-1/2 inches.
4.2 Fan Housing Installation

Image: Visual guide for initial installation steps, including measuring, cutting, attaching the duct connector, and removing the fan motor.
- Attach the duct connector (C) to the fan housing (A).
- Remove the three screws on the side of the fan housing (A) that hold the fan motor in place. With the screws removed, unplug the fan motor and pull the fan motor out of the fan housing (A).

Image: Visual guide for wiring and duct connection steps, including removing the wiring box cover, pulling wires, connecting duct, and inserting the fan housing.
- Remove the wiring box cover from the fan housing (A).
- Pull the house wires through the hole in the wiring box cover. Using appropriate wire connectors (not included), connect the house wiring from the wall switch to the fan housing (A). 14 AWG is the smallest conductor that should be used for branch circuit wiring. Refer to the wiring diagrams below to ensure proper wire connections. Carefully push the wire connections into the wiring box housing and reattach the wiring box cover. CAUTION: If your electrical wires do not match the colors listed, consult a licensed electrician to determine each wire's function before connecting.
- Connect a 4-inch circular duct to the duct connector on the fan housing (A), securing it with duct tape or a clamp. Vent the duct to the outside.
- With the wiring and duct connected, insert the fan housing (A) into the ceiling hole. Position the fan housing (A) so the bottom edge is flush with the ceiling.

Image: Visual guide for final assembly steps, including mounting the fan housing, plugging in the fan motor, attaching the LED light panel, and testing the unit.
- Mount the fan housing (A) to the joist with three wood screws (AA) through the holes in the side of the fan housing (A). CAUTION: The fan housing (A) must be installed flush with the ceiling board or the grille mounting springs will not be long enough to insert into the slots inside the fan housing (A).
- Plug the fan motor plug into the fan housing (4-hole to 4-hole). Place the fan motor back into the fan housing, aligning the duct with the duct opening in the fan housing, and attached the fan motor to the housing using the three screws removed in step 4. Plug the LED light panel plug into the housing as well (2-hole to 2-hole).
- Attach the LED light panel by pinching the mounting springs and inserting them into the narrow rectangular slots in the fan housing.
- Turn on power source. Test the unit.
4.3 Wiring Diagrams

Image: Two wiring diagrams. The top diagram shows a single switch controlling both the fan and light simultaneously. The bottom diagram shows two separate switches controlling the fan and light independently.
- Single Switch Control: Connect the fan and light wires to a single ON/OFF switch for simultaneous operation. Ensure proper ground lead connection.
- Dual Switch Control: Connect the fan and light wires to separate ON/OFF switches for independent control. Ensure proper ground lead connection.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Fan Operation
The exhaust fan operates by turning on the connected wall switch. It provides 110 CFM airflow to effectively remove moisture and odors from your bathroom.

Image: A split image showing a steamy bathroom on the left and a clear bathroom on the right, demonstrating the fan's effectiveness in removing moisture.
5.2 LED Light Operation and Color Temperature Adjustment
The integrated LED light provides 1200 lumens of illumination and offers three selectable color temperatures.

Image: Three bathroom scenes demonstrating the different LED light color temperatures: 5000K (Daylight), 4000K (Bright White), and 3000K (Soft White).
- Turn on the light using the connected wall switch. The light will illuminate at the last saved color temperature setting.
- To change the color temperature, quickly toggle the switch OFF and then ON again (within 7 seconds). The light will cycle through the settings: 3000K (Soft White) → 4000K (Bright White) → 5000K (Daylight).
- The fan automatically saves the last selected color temperature if the light remains off for more than 7 seconds.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your exhaust fan.
- Cleaning the Grille: Periodically remove the light panel/grille and wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Cleaning the Fan Blades: With power disconnected, carefully wipe the fan blades with a damp cloth to remove dust and debris.
- Motor Maintenance: The fan motor is permanently lubricated and requires no additional oiling.
- Ductwork Inspection: Annually inspect the ductwork for any blockages or leaks that could reduce efficiency.
WARNING: Always disconnect power before performing any maintenance or cleaning.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Fitop Bathroom Exhaust Fan, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Fan or Light Does Not Operate:
- Check if the circuit breaker is tripped.
- Ensure all electrical connections are secure and correctly wired according to the diagrams.
- Verify that the fan motor and LED light panel plugs are fully inserted into their respective receptacles within the housing.
- Reduced Airflow:
- Check for obstructions in the ductwork or at the exterior vent cap.
- Clean any accumulated dust or debris from the fan blades and grille.
- Excessive Noise:
- Ensure the fan housing is securely mounted and not vibrating against ceiling joists.
- Check for loose screws or components within the fan assembly.
- Clean fan blades if they are unbalanced due to debris.
- Light Color Temperature Does Not Change:
- Ensure you are toggling the switch OFF and ON quickly enough (within 7 seconds) to cycle through the settings.
