3. Setup and Fitting
Achieving a proper fit is essential for the helmet's effectiveness. Follow these steps to ensure the helmet fits correctly:
- Placement: Place the helmet squarely on the child's head, ensuring it covers the forehead without tilting back. The front rim should be about two finger-widths above the eyebrows.
- Adjusting the Dial System: Locate the adjustable dial (ErgoKnob Dial) at the back of the helmet. Turn the dial clockwise to tighten and counter-clockwise to loosen until the helmet feels snug but comfortable. It should not move side-to-side or front-to-back when the child shakes their head.
- Adjusting the Straps:
- Side Straps: Adjust the sliders on the side straps so that they form a "V" shape just below the child's ears.
- Chin Strap: Buckle the chin strap. Tighten the strap until it is snug under the chin. There should be enough room for one or two fingers between the strap and the chin.
- Final Check: Have the child open their mouth wide. The helmet should pull down slightly on the head. If it does not, re-tighten the chin strap.

- Cleaning the Helmet: Use a soft cloth, mild soap, and water to clean the outer shell. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the helmet's materials.

- Storage: Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The included carry bag can be used for convenient storage and portability.
