5. Setup & Installation
The MEIKEE landscape lights offer two primary installation methods: ground insertion and wall mounting. Ensure you have a compatible low voltage transformer and low voltage wires (not included in this pack) before beginning installation.
5.1 Wiring Connection
Follow these steps to connect the lights to your low voltage wiring using the provided connectors:

Figure 6: Wiring Connection Steps
- Divide the Power Cable: Carefully divide the two halves of your low voltage power cable where you intend to connect the light.
- Insert Cable into Large Cap: Take one of the provided connectors and insert the divided power cable into the large cap.
- Screw Pin Part and Pierce Cable: Screw the pin part of the connector into the large cap. This action will pierce the power cable, establishing the electrical connection.
- Insert Light Wire: Insert the light's wire (red and black) through the small cap of the connector.
- Screw Small Cap to Joint: Screw the small cap onto the main joint of the connector, securing the light's wire.
- Pull Test: Gently pull on the wires to ensure they are securely connected and do not come out.

5.2 Ground Inserted Installation
For garden beds, pathways, or lawns, use the ground spike for easy insertion.

Figure 7: Ground Inserted and Wall Mounted Installation Steps
- Connect Spikes: Attach the ground spike to the base of the light fixture.
- Insert into Ground: Firmly insert the spike into the desired location in the ground. Ensure the soil is soft enough to prevent damage to the spike.
- Adjust Angle: Adjust the angle of the light head to illuminate the desired area (up to 270° rotation).
- Turn on Light: Once connected to the transformer and power is supplied, the light will turn on.
5.3 Wall Mounted Installation
For illuminating walls, fences, or other vertical surfaces, use the wall mount bracket.
- Fix the Holder: Secure the wall mount holder to the light fixture.
- Punch Holes in Wall: Mark and drill appropriate holes in the wall for mounting. Use the included screw pack and wall anchors if necessary.
- Secure with Screws: Fasten the light fixture to the wall using screws.
- Turn on Light: Once connected to the transformer and power is supplied, the light will turn on.
6. Operating Instructions
These landscape lights are designed for simple operation. Once properly installed and connected to a compatible 12-24V AC/DC low voltage transformer, they will illuminate when the transformer is powered on.
- Power On/Off: Control the lights by turning the connected low voltage transformer on or off. Many transformers include timers or photocells for automated operation.
- Adjusting Light Angle: Loosen the adjustment knob on the side of the light fixture, pivot the lamp head to the desired angle (up to 270 degrees), and then tighten the knob to secure it in place.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your MEIKEE landscape lights.
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the lamp head and lens with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the wiring, connectors, and fixture for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Address any issues promptly.
- Drainage: Ensure that the area around ground-inserted lights has proper drainage to prevent water accumulation around the base.
- Winter Care: While IP66 waterproof and frost-resistant, clearing heavy snow or ice buildup from the lights can help prevent physical damage.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your MEIKEE landscape lights, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on. | No power to transformer, loose wiring connection, faulty light. | Check transformer power supply. Verify all wiring connections are secure. Test light with a known working power source. |
| Light flickers or is dim. | Insufficient power, loose connection, wire damage. | Ensure transformer wattage is sufficient for all connected lights. Check and tighten all wiring connections. Inspect wires for cuts or damage. |
| Moisture inside the lens. | Seal compromise, extreme temperature changes. | While IP66 rated, extreme conditions can sometimes cause condensation. If persistent, ensure all seals are properly seated. Contact customer support if the issue persists and affects performance. |
| Light falls over (ground-inserted). | Loose soil, improper insertion. | Re-insert spike into firmer ground. Compact soil around the spike after insertion. |
