Safety Precautions

To ensure safe operation and prevent damage to the unit or connected appliances, please observe the following precautions:

  • Always ensure the total power consumption of connected appliances does not exceed the rated power of the voltage converter. Overloading will trigger an alarm or automatic shutdown.
  • The converter is equipped with multiple protection features including surge protection, over power protection, over-current protection, thermal protection, overload protection, and short circuit protection.
  • Do not expose the unit to moisture or extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the converter during operation.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the unit yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

Operating Instructions

The UMI voltage converter is designed for straightforward operation.

  • Power Capacity: Ensure the total wattage of all connected appliances does not exceed the continuous rated power of the converter (2000W or 2400W). For short-term, high-power demands, the converter supports an intermittent rating of up to 4600W with a duty cycle of 5 minutes ON and 15 minutes OFF.
  • LED Display: Monitor the input voltage and output power consumption on the integrated LED display. This helps in ensuring that the load is within safe operating limits.
  • Simultaneous Use: You can use two or more 220V appliances simultaneously, provided their combined power consumption remains below the converter's rated power.
  • Overload Protection: If the converter detects an overload (power consumption exceeding its limits), it will alarm or automatically shut down to prevent damage. To reset after an overload, turn off the converter, disconnect the overloaded appliance, and then turn the converter back on. If the alarm persists, press the power switch button twice to reset the unit.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your voltage converter.

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the converter from the power source before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation openings are clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the converter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cord and plugs for any signs of damage. Do not use the converter if any part is damaged.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Converter does not power on.No power from wall outlet; power cord damaged; converter switch off.Check wall outlet with another device; inspect power cord for damage; ensure converter switch is ON.
Converter alarms or shuts down.Overload (total power consumption exceeds rated power); overheating.Disconnect some appliances to reduce load; ensure total wattage is below converter's rating. Allow unit to cool down if hot; ensure proper ventilation. Press power switch twice to reset.
Appliance not working after connection.Appliance switch off; appliance faulty; incorrect voltage output selected (not applicable for this step-up model); loose connection.Ensure appliance is switched ON; test appliance with a known working power source; check all connections are secure.
LED display is blank or flickering.Power supply issue; internal fault.Check power connection. If problem persists, discontinue use and contact customer support.
