4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Flash Modes (TTL/M)

  • TTL Mode: The flash automatically adjusts its output based on the camera's metering system. This mode is ideal for quick shooting and changing light conditions.
  • Manual (M) Mode: Allows you to manually set the flash power output. This provides precise control over lighting and is suitable for consistent studio setups.

Switch between modes using the controls on the MF12 flash unit or via your wireless trigger.

4.2 S1/S2 Secondary Optic Triggering

  • S1 Mode: The flash fires in response to the first flash from a master flash. This is suitable for manual master flashes.
  • S2 Mode: The flash ignores the pre-flash from a TTL master flash and fires on the main flash. This is useful when using a TTL master flash in manual mode.

4.3 Modeling Light

Each MF12 flash unit includes a modeling light with 8 adjustable levels. The modeling light helps visualize the lighting effect before taking the shot, especially useful in macro photography where precise light placement is critical.

  1. Press the modeling light button on the flash unit to turn it on/off.
  2. Use the adjustment dial to cycle through the 8 brightness levels.

4.4 Multi-Flash Combinations

For enhanced lighting and reduced shadows, additional MF12 flashes can be combined using a mounting ring (not included in this kit). This allows for a brighter and more even light source.
