Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Proster Digital Multimeter. This high-precision, multi-functional instrument is designed for accurate measurement of various electrical parameters, including AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, temperature, and duty cycle. It features True RMS, NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) detection, data hold, backlight, flashlight, diode testing, and continuity checking. This manual provides essential information for safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Safety Information
Always observe safety precautions when using the multimeter. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, injury, or damage to the meter or equipment under test. Read all instructions before use.
- Do not exceed the maximum input values for any function.
- Do not use the meter if it or the test leads appear damaged.
- Ensure the function switch is in the correct position before making measurements.
- Use caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS, 42V peak, or 60V DC. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Always disconnect power to the circuit and discharge all high-voltage capacitors before testing resistance, continuity, diodes, or capacitance.
- Replace batteries and fuses only with the specified type and rating.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
The multimeter requires four (4) 1.5V AAA batteries. These may be pre-installed or included separately. If not pre-installed, follow these steps:
- Ensure the multimeter is powered off and test leads are disconnected.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the meter.
- Use the included screwdriver to loosen the screw securing the battery cover.
- Remove the battery cover.
- Insert the 4x AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw.
2. Connecting Test Probes
For most measurements, connect the test probes as follows:
- Insert the black test lead into the COM (Common) input jack.
- Insert the red test lead into the VΩHz input jack for voltage, resistance, frequency, capacitance, and temperature measurements.
- For current measurements (mA or 20A), insert the red test lead into the respective mA or 20A input jack.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
Rotate the central rotary switch from the "OFF" position to any desired measurement function to power on the multimeter. To power off, rotate the switch back to the "OFF" position. The meter also features an auto-power-off function to conserve battery life after a period of inactivity.
Function Selection
The rotary switch allows you to select the primary measurement function. For functions with multiple modes (e.g., AC/DC voltage, diode/continuity), press the FUNC/HOLD button to cycle through the available modes.

Display and Backlight
The large backlit LCD screen provides clear readings, even in low-light conditions. Press the 🔆/🔦 button to toggle the backlight on or off. The display shows 6000 counts for high resolution measurements.

Measuring Voltage (AC/DC)
- Set the rotary switch to the V position.
- Press FUNC/HOLD to select between DC Voltage (DCV) or AC Voltage (ACV).
- Connect the test leads in parallel to the circuit or component under test.
- Read the voltage value on the display.

Measuring Current (AC/DC)
- Important: Disconnect power to the circuit before connecting the meter in series.
- Set the rotary switch to the mA or 20A position, depending on the expected current.
- Press FUNC/HOLD to select between DC Current (DCA) or AC Current (ACA).
- Connect the test leads in series with the circuit.
- Apply power to the circuit and read the current value.
Measuring Resistance
- Ensure the circuit is de-energized and capacitors are discharged.
- Set the rotary switch to the Ω position.
- Connect the test leads across the component to be measured.
- Read the resistance value on the display.
Measuring Temperature
- Set the rotary switch to the °C/°F position.
- Connect the temperature probe to the VΩHz and COM input jacks, observing polarity.
- Place the tip of the temperature probe on or in the object whose temperature is to be measured.
- Read the temperature value on the display. Press FUNC/HOLD to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection
The NCV function allows for quick detection of AC voltage without direct contact. This is useful for identifying live wires or checking for voltage presence.
- Set the rotary switch to the NCV position.
- Move the top tip of the multimeter close to the conductor or outlet.
- If AC voltage is detected, the meter will emit an audible beep and the NCV indicator light will illuminate.

Other Functions
- Data Hold: Press the FUNC/HOLD button briefly during a measurement to freeze the displayed reading. Press again to release.
- Flashlight: Press the 🔆/🔦 button for 2 seconds to turn the built-in flashlight on or off.
- Diode Test: Set the rotary switch to the diode symbol. Connect the red lead to the anode and black lead to the cathode of the diode. The display will show the forward voltage drop.
- Continuity Test: Set the rotary switch to the continuity symbol. If the resistance between the two test points is below approximately 50Ω, the meter will emit an audible beep, indicating continuity.
- True RMS: This multimeter features True RMS measurement, providing accurate readings for non-sinusoidal AC waveforms.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents. Keep the input terminals clean to ensure accurate readings.
Battery Replacement
When the battery low indicator (battery icon) appears on the display, replace the batteries immediately to ensure accurate measurements. Follow the battery installation steps in the "Setup" section.
Fuse Replacement
The multimeter is protected by internal fuses. If the current measurement function stops working, the fuse may need replacement. Two spare fuses are included in the package.

- Ensure the multimeter is powered off and test leads are disconnected.
- Open the battery compartment as described in "Battery Installation".
- Carefully remove the back casing of the multimeter (additional screws may be present).
- Locate the blown fuse(s) on the circuit board.
- Gently remove the old fuse(s) and replace with new fuse(s) of the same type and rating. Refer to specifications for fuse ratings.
- Reassemble the multimeter, ensuring all screws are securely fastened.
Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the multimeter and its accessories in the provided fabric carrying bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
