2. Safety Information
Always adhere to safety precautions when working with electrical systems. This device is designed with safety in mind, but improper use can still lead to hazards.
- The ANENG VD807 meets IEC rated CAT II 1000V and CAT IV 600V standards, ensuring reliable performance and adherence to safety regulations. It is also CE certified.
- The voltage tester features double insulation for enhanced safety.
- A High Voltage Alert feature provides a warning for dangerous voltages. When triggered, the screen turns red and a safety symbol illuminates, alerting you to potential high voltage hazards.
- Do not use the tester if it appears damaged or is not operating correctly.
- Always test the device on a known live circuit before use to confirm proper functionality.
3. Product Features
- Non-Contact AC Voltage Detection: Equipped with an NCV inductive probe for detecting AC voltage without direct contact.
- LCD Display: Provides clear readings and indications.
- Flashlight: Integrated LED flashlight for illumination in dimly lit areas.
- Audible and Visual Alarms: Sound and light indicators for voltage presence and varying frequencies for signal strength.
- Live/Neutral Wire Identification: Automatically identifies live or neutral wires.
- Wire Breakpoint Finder: Assists in locating breaks in electrical wires.
- Light Bulb Tester: Can be used to test wires, fuses, and bulbs, including holiday lights.
4. Package Contents
Upon opening the package, verify that all items are present and undamaged:
- 1 x ANENG VD807 Pen Voltage Tester
- 2 x 1.5V AAA Batteries
- 1 x User Manual
5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the tester.
- Open the cover by sliding or unscrewing it, depending on the design.
- Insert two 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
Press the power button located on the side of the tester to turn it on. Press and hold the power button to turn it off.
6.2 Non-Contact AC Voltage Detection (NCV)
The NCV function allows for safe detection of AC voltage without direct contact with live conductors.
- Turn on the tester.
- Position the tip of the tester near a terminal strip, outlet, or AC power cord.
- If AC voltage is detected, the tester's tip will glow red, and an audible beeping sound will be emitted. The frequency of the beeps and the intensity of the light will increase as the voltage strength increases.

6.3 Live/Neutral Wire Identification
The VD807 can differentiate between live and neutral wires using its two-color display screen.
- When the tester detects a live wire, the LCD screen will typically turn red and display a higher voltage reading, along with a strong audible alarm.
- When detecting a neutral wire, the LCD screen will typically turn green and show a low or zero voltage reading, with a weaker or no audible alarm.

6.4 Wire Breakpoint Finding
To locate a breakpoint in a wire:
- Ensure the wire is connected to a power source.
- Slowly move the tester along the length of the wire.
- The tester will indicate voltage presence up to the point of the break. The alarm and display will cease or significantly reduce past the breakpoint.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the tester with a dry, clean cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
7.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator shows low power, replace the AAA batteries as described in the Setup section (5.1 Battery Installation).
7.3 Storage
Store the tester in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

8. Troubleshooting
- No Power/Display: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Inaccurate Readings/No Detection: Ensure the tester tip is close enough to the conductor. Test on a known live circuit to confirm functionality. Environmental factors or strong electromagnetic fields can sometimes affect readings.
- Constant Alarm: If the tester constantly alarms without being near a known voltage source, it might be detecting residual voltage or interference. Try moving to a different location or re-calibrating by turning it off and on.
