1. Important Safety Information

Read all instructions carefully before using the microwave oven to prevent the risk of fire, electric shock, injury to persons, or exposure to excessive microwave energy.

• Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open as this can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy.
• Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces.
• Do not operate the oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the oven door closes properly and that there is no damage to the: (1) door (bent), (2) hinges and latches (broken or loosened), (3) door seals and sealing surfaces.
• The oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.
• Always supervise children when the microwave is in use. The Child Safety Lock feature can be activated to prevent unintended operation.

3. Installation

This Farberware microwave oven is designed for over-the-range installation. Due to its weight and the complexity of electrical and ventilation connections, professional installation is highly recommended. Ensure that the installation area meets the specified dimensions and electrical requirements.

• Dimensions: The product dimensions are approximately 18.62 inches (Depth) x 29.88 inches (Width) x 10.31 inches (Height). Verify that your cabinet and wall space can accommodate these measurements.
• Electrical Requirements: The unit operates on 120V AC and requires a dedicated 20-amp circuit. Consult a qualified electrician if your current setup does not meet these specifications.
• Ventilation: The microwave features a powerful vent fan. Ensure proper ducting is available for external venting, or prepare for recirculation if external venting is not an option.

4. Initial Setup

After installation, perform the following steps for initial setup:

1. Power On: Plug the microwave into a grounded electrical outlet. The LED display will illuminate.
2. Set Clock: Press the "Timer/Clock" button. Use the number pad to enter the current time. Press "Timer/Clock" again to confirm.
3. Turntable Placement: Ensure the glass turntable and its support ring are correctly seated inside the oven cavity.

4. Adjust Volume (Optional): If available, use the "User Pref" or similar button to adjust the volume of alerts and beeps.
5. Child Safety Lock: To activate the child safety lock, press and hold the "Stop/Clear" button for 3 seconds. A lock indicator will appear on the display. Repeat to deactivate.

5. Operating Instructions

Basic Microwave Cooking:

1. Place food in a microwave-safe container on the turntable.
2. Enter desired cooking time using the number pad.
3. Press "Start/+30 Sec." to begin cooking at full power (1000W).

Adjusting Power Level:

To cook at a lower power level:

1. Enter desired cooking time.
2. Press "Power Level".
3. Enter the desired power level (1-10, where 10 is 100% power).
4. Press "Start/+30 Sec.".

One-Touch Cooking Programs:

The microwave features pre-programmed settings for common food items:

• Popcorn: Press "Popcorn" button.
• Potato: Press "Potato" button.
• Snack Menus: Access various snack options via the "Snack Menus" button.
• Auto Cook: For specific dishes like scrambled eggs, use the "Auto Cook" feature.

Sensor Cooking & Reheat:

The intelligent sensor technology automatically adjusts cooking time and power for optimal results.

• Sensor Reheat: Press "Sensor Reheat" for automatic reheating of various foods.

Melt/Soften Feature:

Defrosting Options:

The microwave offers multiple defrosting methods:

• Weight Defrost: Enter the weight of the food for precise defrosting.
• Time Defrost: Manually set the defrosting time.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your microwave oven.

• Interior Cleaning: Wipe the interior cavity with a damp cloth and mild detergent after each use. For stubborn stains, place a bowl of water with lemon slices inside and microwave for a few minutes to loosen residue, then wipe clean.
• Exterior Cleaning: Clean the exterior surfaces, including the control panel and stainless steel finish, with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
• Turntable: The glass turntable and support ring can be removed and washed with warm, soapy water or in the dishwasher.
