Setup & Installation

The MEIKEE Solar Landscape Spotlights offer two installation methods: ground insertion or wall mounting.

1. Solar Panel Placement

Choose a location for the solar panel that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily. This ensures optimal charging of the built-in battery.

2. Connecting Components

  1. Connect the solar panel cable to the control box.
  2. Connect each spotlight cable to the designated ports on the control box. Ensure all connections are secure.

3. Installation Methods

Ground Inserted Installation

  1. Attach the ground stakes to the bottom of each spotlight.
  2. Insert the assembled spotlights into soft ground in your desired locations.
  3. Attach the ground stake to the solar panel and insert it into the ground in a sunny spot.

Wall Mounted Installation

  1. Use the provided screws and wall anchors to mount the spotlights and solar panel to a wall or fence. Ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive maximum sunlight.

Each spotlight head can be manually adjusted up to 180 degrees to direct light precisely where needed.

Operating Instructions

1. Initial Charge

Before first use, ensure the solar panel is placed in direct sunlight for at least 8 hours to fully charge the internal battery. The lights will not operate during the day.

2. Automatic Operation

Once charged, the spotlights will automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn. The duration of illumination depends on the amount of sunlight received during the day.

3. Remote Control Functions

Use the included 29-key RF remote control to manage your spotlights. The maximum control distance is 8-12 meters.

  • ON/OFF: Power the lights on or off.
  • Color Selection: Choose from 10 single colors (Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Cyan, Purple, Indigo, Magenta, White).
  • Brightness Adjustment: For single colors, select between low (50%) and high (100%) brightness levels.
  • Dynamic Modes: Select from 12 multi-color mixing modes, including Smooth, Flash, Strobe, and various color jumps/gradients.
  • Speed Adjustment: Increase or decrease the speed of dynamic color changing modes.
  • Timing Function: Set the lights to automatically turn off after 2, 4, or 6 hours.
  • Memory Function: The lights will remember your last selected setting (color, mode, brightness, timer) when they turn on again, eliminating the need to reset.

4. Control Box Indicator

The control box features an indicator light that displays the battery's power level:

  • One light: 30% battery
  • Two lights: 70% battery
  • Three lights: 100% battery

This allows for convenient monitoring of the battery status.

Maintenance

To ensure the optimal performance and longevity of your MEIKEE Solar Landscape Spotlights, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Clean Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures efficient charging.
  • Clear Obstructions: Ensure no trees, bushes, or structures are blocking direct sunlight from reaching the solar panel.
  • Battery Care: While the battery is built-in and rechargeable, prolonged periods without sufficient sunlight may reduce its overall lifespan. If storing the lights for an extended period, ensure they are fully charged first.
  • Weather Resistance: The lights and control box are IP66 waterproof, designed to withstand various weather conditions, including rain, heat, and frost. However, avoid submerging the units in water.
Four images demonstrating weather resistance: top image shows colorful spotlights illuminating a garden in the rain; bottom left shows a solar panel in a sunny garden with 'Heat Resistance' text; bottom right shows a solar panel in a snowy environment with 'Frost Resistance' text.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MEIKEE Solar Landscape Spotlights, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Lights do not turn on at night:
    • Ensure the solar panel is receiving adequate direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours during the day.
    • Check all cable connections between the solar panel, control box, and spotlights.
    • Verify the lights are switched ON using the remote control.
    • The battery may be depleted. Allow for a full day's charge in direct sunlight.
  • Lights are dim or only stay on for a short period:
    • The solar panel may not be receiving enough sunlight. Relocate the panel or clear any obstructions.
    • Clean the solar panel surface to ensure maximum light absorption.
    • Ensure the battery is fully charged. Performance may decrease in winter or on cloudy days.
  • Remote control is not working:
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the control box.
    • Check the battery in the remote control and replace if necessary.
    • Ensure you are within the effective range (8-12 meters).
  • Lights are flashing or behaving inconsistently:
    • This may indicate a low battery. Allow the lights to charge fully.
    • Try resetting the lights by turning them off and then on again with the remote.
    • If a specific dynamic mode is selected, it might involve flashing. Ensure you have selected your desired static color or dynamic mode.
