1. Introduction

This device allows you to control your electronic appliances remotely, monitor energy consumption, and integrate with smart home systems like Amazon Alexa and Google Home. 2. Safety Information

  • Do not exceed the maximum load of 15A / 3000W.
  • For indoor use only.
  • Keep away from water and humid environments.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device.
  • Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the wall socket.
  • This device operates on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network only.
  • Equipped with a 20A relay and overload protection for safety.

3. Product Overview

The SMATRUL CZ102W Smart Plug is designed for compact use, allowing two plugs to be stacked in a standard dual wall outlet without obstruction.

4. Setup

4.1 App Download and Account Creation

  1. Scan the QR code provided in the packaging or search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" in your mobile app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android).
  2. Download and install the app.
  3. Open the app and register a new account or log in if you already have one.

4.2 Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. Plug the smart plug into a wall outlet.
  2. Open the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app.
  3. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a device.
  4. Select "Electrical Outlet" or "Smart Plug" from the device list.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to put the device into pairing mode (usually by pressing and holding the power button on the plug for 5 seconds until the indicator light blinks rapidly).
  6. Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The smart plug does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
  7. Enter your Wi-Fi network password in the app.
  8. Wait for the app to connect to the device. Once connected, you can rename the plug.

4.3 Integrating with Voice Assistants (Alexa/Google Home)

  1. Open the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app and navigate to the device settings.
  2. Look for options to link with third-party services like Alexa or Google Assistant.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to link your Smart Life/Tuya Smart account with your Amazon Alexa or Google Home account.
  4. Once linked, discover new devices in your Alexa or Google Home app.
  5. You can now control your smart plug using voice commands.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic On/Off Control

Use the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app to turn the connected appliance on or off from anywhere with an internet connection. You can also manually press the button on the smart plug to toggle its power state.

5.2 Energy Monitoring

The smart plug provides real-time monitoring of power, current, and voltage of the connected device through the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app. You can view daily, weekly, and monthly energy consumption data for up to one year, helping you manage and reduce electricity usage.

5.3 Timer and Schedule Functions

Set timers or schedules within the app to automatically turn your appliances on or off at specific times. This includes countdown timers, recurring schedules, and random modes for security.

5.4 Power-Off Memory Function

The smart socket is designed to remember its last state (ON/OFF) before a power outage. When power is restored, the plug will automatically return to its previous state without requiring a manual reset.

5.5 Fluorescent Strip

The bottom of the smart plug features a subtle fluorescent strip that emits a faint glow, making it easier to locate in the dark without disturbing sleep.

6. Maintenance

  • To clean the device, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure the device is unplugged before cleaning.

7. Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Device not connecting to Wi-Fi:
    • Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal. 5GHz networks are not supported.
    • Check if your Wi-Fi password is correct.
    • Move the smart plug closer to your Wi-Fi router.
    • Reset the smart plug by unplugging it and plugging it back in, then try pairing again.
    • Ensure the indicator light is blinking rapidly during pairing mode.
  • App control not working:
    • Check your internet connection.
    • Ensure the smart plug is connected to Wi-Fi and online in the app.
    • Restart the Smart Life/Tuya Smart app.
  • Voice control not responding:
    • Verify that your Smart Life/Tuya Smart account is correctly linked to Alexa or Google Home.
    • Ensure the device is named clearly in the app and discovered by your voice assistant.
    • Check your internet connection and the status of your smart speaker.
  • Energy monitoring data not updating:
    • Ensure the appliance connected to the smart plug is drawing power.
    • Check the app for any pending updates or connectivity issues.
