4. Setup and Installation
The Carbest 2-Burner Gas Hob is designed for built-in installation. Proper installation is crucial for safety and performance. Refer to the diagram below for precise cutout dimensions.

Figure 1: Installation Dimensions
This diagram illustrates the required cutout dimensions for installing the Carbest 2-burner gas hob. The overall hob dimensions are approximately 280mm (width) x 380mm (depth). The recommended countertop cutout dimensions are 260mm (width) x 360mm (depth), with a minimum depth of 65mm required beneath the counter for gas connections and appliance clearance.
- Prepare the Countertop: Create a cutout in your countertop according to the dimensions provided in Figure 1 (approximately 260mm x 360mm). Ensure the countertop material is heat-resistant.
- Position the Hob: Carefully lower the gas hob into the cutout. The hob is designed for a sliding/drop-in installation.
- Secure the Hob: Use the provided mounting material to secure the hob firmly to the countertop from underneath.
- Gas Connection: Connect the gas supply line to the hob's gas inlet. This connection must be performed by a qualified professional. Ensure the gas pressure is 30 mbar. Check for leaks using a soapy water solution.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation is maintained in the installation area as per local regulations.
5. Operating Instructions
Your Carbest gas hob features manual ignition and easy temperature control.
- Before Use: Ensure the gas supply valve is open.
- Igniting a Burner:
- Push down and turn the corresponding control knob counter-clockwise to the maximum flame setting.
- While holding the knob down, use a long match or a gas lighter to ignite the burner.
- Once the burner is lit, continue to hold the knob down for a few seconds (approximately 3-5 seconds) to allow the ignition safety device to activate. This device prevents gas flow if the flame accidentally extinguishes.
- Release the knob. If the flame goes out, repeat the ignition process.
- Adjusting the Flame: Turn the control knob to adjust the flame size. Turn clockwise for a smaller flame and counter-clockwise for a larger flame.
- Turning Off a Burner: Turn the control knob clockwise until it clicks into the "OFF" position. Ensure the flame is completely extinguished.
- After Use: Close the main gas supply valve when the appliance is not in use for extended periods.
6. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and safe operation of your gas hob.
- Cleaning the Surface: The hob features a tempered glass and stainless steel surface. Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent after each use, once the hob has cooled down completely. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that can scratch the surface.
- Burner Components: Periodically remove the burner caps and crowns for cleaning. Wash them in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely before reassembling. Ensure the burner ports are not clogged.
- Gas Connections: Have gas connections and hoses inspected regularly by a qualified technician for wear, damage, or leaks.
- General Inspection: Check the control knobs for proper function and ensure they turn smoothly.
