Setup and Installation
The BWE Black Sensor Faucet is designed for easy installation, suitable for both single-hole and three-hole sink configurations using the included deck plate. While installation is straightforward, careful attention to detail is required for secure and leak-free operation.
Tools Required (Not Included):
- Adjustable Wrench
- Screwdriver
- Plumber's Putty or Silicone Sealant
- Measuring Tape
- Flashlight (for under-sink work)
Installation Steps:
- Prepare the Sink: Ensure the sink surface is clean and dry. If installing on a 3-hole sink, place the deck plate over the holes. For a 1-hole sink, the deck plate is optional.
- Mount the Faucet: Insert the faucet body through the hole(s) in the sink/deck plate. From underneath the sink, secure the faucet using the provided mounting hardware (gaskets, washers, and nuts). Tighten firmly but do not overtighten.
- Connect Water Supply Hoses: Attach the hot and cold water supply hoses to the corresponding inlets on the faucet body. The hoses are typically color-coded (red for hot, blue for cold) or marked. Ensure a tight seal to prevent leaks. Connect the other end of the hoses to your hot and cold water supply valves.
- Install Control Box: Mount the control box in an accessible location under the sink, away from direct water exposure. Connect the sensor cable from the faucet to the control box.
- Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the control box and insert 4 AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
- Test Operation: Turn on the main water supply. Place your hands under the faucet to activate the sensor. Check for any leaks around the connections. Adjust the temperature using the small handle on the side of the faucet body.

Operation
Touchless Sensing:
The faucet is equipped with a built-in infrared sensor. To activate water flow, simply place your hands within the sensing area directly under the spout. The water will automatically turn on. When you remove your hands, the water flow will stop, minimizing water waste and cross-contamination.

Water Temperature Adjustment:
The faucet includes a small handle on the side of the faucet body for temperature control. Rotate the handle to the left for hotter water and to the right for colder water. This allows you to set your desired water temperature before activating the flow with the sensor.

Maintenance
Cleaning:
To maintain the matte black finish and ensure optimal performance, clean the faucet regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish and internal components.
Battery Replacement:
The sensor is powered by 4 AA batteries located in the control box. When the sensor light on the faucet begins to flash continuously, it indicates that the battery power is low and they need to be replaced. To replace, open the battery compartment on the control box, remove the old batteries, and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity. Securely close the compartment.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water flow or weak flow. |
|
|
| Sensor light flashing continuously. | Low battery power. | Replace 4 AA batteries in the control box. |
| Water does not turn off. |
|
|
| Leaks from connections. | Loose connections or damaged gaskets. | Turn off water supply. Check and tighten all connections. Replace gaskets if damaged. |
| Sensor sensitivity issues (e.g., too close to activate). | Sensor calibration or environmental factors. | Ensure the sensor is clean and unobstructed. If a remote for adjustment is mentioned in other documentation, consult that. Otherwise, contact customer support for advanced calibration options. |
