  • Keep children and pets away from the spraying area.
  • Do not spray near open flames or ignition sources.
  • Ensure all connections are secure before operating to prevent leaks.
  • Disconnect power when not in use or during maintenance.

3. Setup and Assembly

3.1 Mounting the Sprayer

The sprayer is designed for easy mounting on standard ATVs, UTVs, or lawn tractors. Secure the tank to your vehicle using appropriate straps or mounting hardware (not included unless specified). Ensure the tank is stable and balanced to prevent tipping during operation.

3.2 Connecting the Pump

The 2.5 GPM Chapin 12V diaphragm pump connects quickly using the included alligator clips. Connect the red clip to the positive (+) terminal of your vehicle's 12V battery and the black clip to the negative (-) terminal. Ensure a secure connection to prevent power interruptions.

3.3 Attaching the Boom and Wand

Attach the 2-nozzle spray boom (#6428) to the designated mounting points on the sprayer. The boom provides a 7-foot spray pattern and features adjustable height. Connect the 19-inch poly wand and 180-inch reinforced PVC hose to the sprayer's shut-off valve. Ensure all hose connections are tight to prevent leaks.

3.4 Filling the Tank

The 25-gallon translucent poly tank features a 6-inch wide opening for easy filling. Before adding chemicals, ensure the filter basket cap is properly seated within the tank opening to prevent debris from entering. Fill the tank with the desired liquid, following the chemical manufacturer's mixing instructions. The translucent tank allows for easy monitoring of liquid levels.

4.1 Powering On and Off

Once the pump is connected to the 12V power source, activate the pump using the integrated switch. The diaphragm pump is self-priming.

4.2 Using the Wand

The 19-inch poly wand allows for precise spot spraying. The shut-off handle features a thumb-control lock-on feature for continuous spraying and a cushioned grip for comfort. The adjustable poly cone nozzle can be rotated to change the spray pattern from a fine cone mist to a solid stream, depending on your application needs.

4.3 Using the 2-Nozzle Boom

For wider coverage, engage the 2-nozzle boom. The boom provides a 7-foot spray pattern, ideal for treating larger areas such as lawns, fields, or fencelines. Adjust the boom height as needed to ensure optimal spray coverage and to avoid obstacles.

4.4 Triple-Filtration System

The sprayer features a 3-stage filtration system to minimize clogs: a filter basket at the cap, an in-tank filter, and a filter at the shut-off. Regularly inspect and clean these filters to maintain optimal performance.

5. Maintenance

  • After Each Use: Flush the tank and pump with clean water. Operate the sprayer with clean water for several minutes to clear any chemical residue from the lines, pump, and nozzles.
  • Clean Filters: Remove and clean all three filters (cap basket, in-tank, and shut-off) regularly, especially after using thick or particulate-containing chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the sprayer in a dry, frost-free location. Ensure the tank is empty and clean before storage. Disconnect the pump from the battery.
  • Chemical Compatibility: The sprayer features chemical-resistant seals and gaskets, but always verify compatibility with specific chemicals to prevent damage.
