Introduction

The Shark ZD201 Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is designed for powerful and versatile cleaning across various surfaces. Featuring PowerFins and a self-cleaning brushroll, it is engineered to effectively pick up pet hair and debris without hair wrap. The Lift-Away pod allows for portable cleaning of stairs, furniture, and hard-to-reach areas. Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology with a HEPA filter traps fine particles, ensuring a cleaner home environment.

Assembly

To assemble your Shark ZD201 vacuum, carefully unpack all components. Insert the wand into the floor nozzle until it clicks securely into place. Then, slide the Lift-Away pod onto the wand. Finally, attach the handle to the top of the wand, ensuring it locks. Connect the hose to the back of the pod. Ensure all connections are firm before use.

Operating Instructions

1. Power and Surface Settings

Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. The power switch is located on the main unit. Select the appropriate surface setting:

• Hard Floor: For bare floors and delicate area rugs. The brushrolls will spin slower.
• Carpet: For carpets and thicker area rugs. The brushrolls will spin faster for deeper cleaning.

2. Lift-Away Mode

To clean above-floor areas, press the Lift-Away button to detach the pod from the nozzle. This allows for portable cleaning while maintaining powerful suction.

3. Using Attachments

Attach the desired cleaning tool to the end of the hose or the wand for specialized cleaning tasks.

• Crevice Tool: Ideal for cleaning in tight spaces, corners, and along baseboards.
• Upholstery Tool: Designed to remove pet hair, dust, and debris from upholstery and fabrics.

Maintenance

1. Emptying the Dust Cup

Empty the dust cup after each use or when debris reaches the MAX FILL line. Press the dust cup release latch and lift the dust cup away from the pod. Hold the dust cup over a trash bin and press the bottom release latch to empty. Close the bottom lid and reattach the dust cup to the pod.

2. Cleaning Filters

Regularly clean the foam and felt filters to maintain optimal suction. Rinse them with water and allow them to air dry completely before reinserting. The HEPA filter should be cleaned or replaced as recommended in the full user manual.

3. Cleaning Brushrolls

The PowerFins brushroll is designed to be self-cleaning and minimize hair wrap. Periodically inspect the brushroll for any remaining debris or hair and remove it if necessary. Ensure the brushroll is free of obstructions for effective cleaning.
