  • Triple Anti-Shake Protection: The camera incorporates multiple anti-shake mechanisms to reduce blur caused by camera movement, ensuring sharper images even in challenging conditions.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your PENTAX WG-90 camera, especially given its rugged design.

  • Cleaning the Camera Body: Wipe the camera body with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution, then wipe with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not use organic solvents like alcohol or paint thinner.
  • Cleaning the Lens and LCD: Use a lens brush or a blower to remove dust. For smudges, use a soft, clean lens cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces. Avoid touching the lens or LCD with your fingers.
  • Waterproof Seals: Regularly inspect the rubber seals around the battery/memory card compartment for any dirt, sand, hair, or damage. Even a small particle can compromise the waterproof integrity. Clean the seals gently with a soft, lint-free cloth. It is recommended to replace the seals periodically, especially if the camera is frequently used underwater. Consult the official Pentax support for recommended replacement intervals (e.g., every 6 years as suggested by some users for similar models).
  • Battery Care: Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods. Charge the battery fully before long periods of storage.
  • Storage: When storing the camera for extended periods, remove the battery. Store the camera in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
