3. Setup

Before beginning any watch adjustment, ensure you have a clean, well-lit workspace. Gather all necessary components from your JOREST kit. Identify the direction of the pins on your watch bracelet; usually, there are small arrows indicating the push-out direction. Always push pins out in the direction of the arrow.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Watch Link Removal

There are two primary methods for removing watch links using this kit:

Method 1: Using the Watch Link Remover Tool

  1. Place the watch bracelet into the slot of the watch link remover tool, ensuring the pin to be removed is aligned with the punch needle. The arrows on the watch band should point downwards, towards the tool's opening.
  2. Adjust the liftable platform if needed to ensure the punch needle is perfectly aligned with the pin hole.
  3. Slowly turn the screw handle of the tool clockwise to push the pin out of the watch link. Continue turning until the pin is fully ejected.
  4. Carefully remove the ejected pin and the watch link.

Method 2: Using the Hammer and Punch Pins

This method is particularly useful for very wide bands or if the tool's screw mechanism is not suitable.

  1. Place the watch bracelet on a stable surface or the watch band holder (if available), aligning the pin to be removed with an appropriate punch pin. Ensure the arrows on the watch band point downwards.
  2. Select a punch pin with a diameter slightly smaller than the watch pin.
  3. Gently tap the end of the punch pin with the double head hammer to push the watch pin out. Apply steady, controlled taps.
  4. If the pin is not fully ejected, use a longer punch needle to push it out completely.
  5. Remove the ejected pin and the watch link.

4.2 Watch Link Installation

To re-install watch links or adjust the bracelet to a smaller size:

  1. Align the watch links you wish to connect.
  2. Insert a watch pin into the link hole, ensuring it is oriented correctly (opposite to the removal direction).
  3. Place the bracelet back into the watch link remover tool or onto a stable surface.
  4. Gently push the pin back into place using the screw mechanism of the tool or by lightly tapping with the double head hammer until it is flush with the link.

4.3 Using the Spring Bar Tool

The spring bar tool is used for replacing watch straps or unlinking bracelets that use spring bars instead of pins.

  • V-Head: Use the V-shaped end to compress the spring bar and remove or replace the watch strap from the watch lugs.
  • O-Head: Use the pointed end to manipulate smaller spring bars or to assist in unlinking certain types of bracelets.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your JOREST Watch Link Removal Kit:

  • Cleaning: After each use, wipe down all tools with the provided cleaning cloth to remove any dust, oils, or debris.
  • Storage: Store all components in their original packaging or a suitable storage case to prevent loss or damage. Keep them in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Needle Replacement: The punch needles are consumable items. Replace them when they become bent, dull, or broken to ensure optimal performance and prevent damage to your watch.
