The CAPERAVE portable monitor offers multiple connection methods depending on your source device.

3.1 Connecting to Laptops/PCs with Full-Function USB-C (Thunderbolt 3/4 or USB 3.1 Type-C DP ALT-MODE)

  1. Connect one end of the provided USB-C to USB-C cable to a full-function USB-C port on your laptop/PC.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C to USB-C cable to either of the USB-C ports on the portable monitor.
  3. The monitor will automatically receive power, video, and touch data. No additional drivers are required.

3.2 Connecting to Laptops/PCs with HDMI and Standard USB-C Ports

  1. Connect one end of the provided HDMI cable to the HDMI port on your laptop/PC.
  2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the portable monitor.
  3. Connect one end of the provided USB-A to USB-C cable to a USB-A port on your laptop/PC.
  4. Connect the USB-C end of this cable to one of the USB-C ports on the portable monitor. This provides power and enables touch functionality.
  5. If your laptop/PC cannot provide sufficient power via USB-A, connect the provided power adapter to the other USB-C port on the monitor for external power.

3.3 Connecting to Portable Devices (Smartphones/Tablets) with Full-Function USB-C

Note: Not all phone models with a Type-C port support video output. Only phones with Type-C interfaces that support DisplayPort Alt Mode are compatible.

  1. Connect one end of the provided USB-C to USB-C cable to your compatible smartphone/tablet.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C to USB-C cable to either of the USB-C ports on the portable monitor.
  3. The monitor will receive power, video, and touch data from your device.
  4. If the phone cannot provide enough power, connect the power adapter to the other USB-C port on the monitor.

3.4 Connecting to Gaming Consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch)

  1. Connect one end of the provided HDMI cable to your gaming console.
  2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the portable monitor.
  3. Connect the provided power adapter to one of the USB-C ports on the monitor to supply power.
  4. For Nintendo Switch, ensure it is connected via its original dock or a compatible third-party dock that supports video output via HDMI.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

The monitor will typically power on automatically when a signal and power are detected. To manually power on/off, press and hold the power button located on the side of the monitor.

4.2 Display Modes

Once connected, your device may automatically extend or mirror its display. You can adjust these settings through your operating system's display settings:

The monitor supports 10-point capacitive touch. Ensure the USB-C connection for touch data is established (as described in Section 3).

Note for macOS: Touch functionality is supported, but for multi-monitor setups, the touch input may need to be calibrated or assigned to the portable monitor within macOS settings for optimal performance.

4.4 On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu

The monitor features an intuitive OSD menu, which can be navigated using the physical buttons on the side or, uniquely, via the touchscreen itself. This allows for easy adjustment of settings such as brightness, contrast, color modes, and audio volume.

4.5 Audio Output

The monitor has built-in speakers for audio output. You can also connect external headphones or speakers via the 3.5mm audio input port.
