4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Controller

Before first use, fully charge the controller. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the controller's USB-C port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., console, PC, or USB wall adapter). The charging indicator light will show the charging status and turn off or change color when fully charged.

4.2 Pairing via Bluetooth

The controller supports multiple connection modes. Use the BT/SW/MS switch located on the bottom of the controller to select the desired mode.

For Nintendo Switch/Switch OLED:

  1. On your Nintendo Switch, go to the HOME Menu, then select Controllers > Change Grip/Order.
  2. Set the controller's mode switch to SW (Switch).
  3. Press and hold the HOME button on the controller for a few seconds until the indicator lights begin to flash rapidly.
  4. Once paired, the indicator light(s) will remain solid, and the controller will be ready for use.

For PC (Windows 10/11), Mac, Android, iOS, Steam, Tesla:

  1. Set the controller's mode switch to BT (Bluetooth) or MS (Multi-System, if applicable for specific devices).
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your device (PC, Mac, Android, iOS, Steam Deck, Tesla).
  3. On your device, search for new Bluetooth devices.
  4. Press and hold the HOME button on the controller for a few seconds until the indicator lights begin to flash rapidly.
  5. Select "Hyperkin Controller" or similar from the list of available devices on your screen.
  6. Once paired, the indicator light(s) will remain solid.

4.3 Wired Connection

For devices that support wired controllers (e.g., PC, Nintendo Switch in docked mode), you can connect the controller directly using the USB-C cable. Ensure the controller is in the appropriate mode (e.g., SW for Switch, or BT/MS for PC if it supports XInput over USB) and connect the cable. The controller should be recognized automatically.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the HOME button. The controller will attempt to connect to the last paired device.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the HOME button for approximately 5 seconds until the indicator lights turn off. The controller will also power off automatically after a period of inactivity.

5.2 Using the Turbo Function

The Turbo function allows for rapid, repeated input of a button press without continuously pressing the button.

  1. To Activate Turbo: Press and hold the TURBO button, then press the desired action button (A, B, X, Y, L1, R1, L2, R2). Release both buttons. The selected action button will now have turbo functionality.
  2. To Deactivate Turbo: Press and hold the TURBO button, then press the action button that currently has turbo enabled. Release both buttons. The turbo function for that specific button will be deactivated.
  3. To Clear All Turbo Settings: Press and hold the TURBO button for 5 seconds. All turbo functions will be cleared.
