Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
  2. Slide the cover downwards to open.
  3. Insert the two supplied NiMH rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover.

2. Base Unit Connection

  1. Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base unit.
  2. Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to a telephone wall jack.
  3. Plug the small end of the power adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the base unit.
  4. Plug the large end of the power adapter into an electrical outlet.

3. Initial Battery Charge

Place the handset on the base unit. The handset will begin charging. Allow the handset to charge for at least 16 hours before initial use to ensure optimal battery performance.

Operating Instructions

Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Lift the handset from the base or press the TALK button. Dial the desired phone number.
  • To Answer a Call: When the phone rings, lift the handset or press the TALK button.
  • To End a Call: Place the handset back on the base or press the END button.

Volume Amplifier

The ES2000 features a volume amplifier to enhance incoming sound clarity and volume. This is particularly useful for users who prefer a higher volume level.

  • During a Call: Press the Volume Boost button (often marked with a speaker icon and a plus sign) on the handset to increase the earpiece volume.

Call Blocker

Block unwanted calls by adding numbers to the call block list. The system can block up to 100 numbers.

  • To Block a Number from Caller ID History:
    1. Press the CALLER ID button to review the call history.
    2. Navigate to the desired number using the UP/DOWN arrow keys.
    3. Press the MENU/SELECT button.
    4. Select "Add to Block List" and confirm.
  • To Manually Block a Number:
    1. Press the MENU/SELECT button.
    2. Navigate to "Call Blocker" and select it.
    3. Choose "Add New Number" and enter the number using the keypad.
    4. Confirm to save.

Phonebook (Directory)

Store up to 100 names and numbers for quick dialing.

  • To Add a Contact:
    1. Press the MENU/SELECT button.
    2. Navigate to "Phonebook" and select it.
    3. Choose "Add New Entry".
    4. Enter the name and number using the keypad.
    5. Confirm to save.
  • To Dial from Phonebook:
    1. Press the PHONEBOOK button.
    2. Navigate to the desired contact using the UP/DOWN arrow keys.
    3. Press the TALK button to dial.

Caller ID and Call Waiting

The phone displays the caller's name and number (if available) for incoming calls. It also logs up to 20 previous calls.

  • To Review Caller ID History: Press the CALLER ID button. Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to scroll through the list.
  • Call Waiting: If you subscribe to Call Waiting service, you will hear a tone when another call comes in. Press the FLASH button (or TALK button briefly) to switch between calls.

Other Features

  • Redial: Press the REDIAL button to view and redial the last 10 numbers called.
  • Speakerphone: During a call, press the SPEAKER button to activate the hands-free speakerphone. Press it again to switch back to the earpiece.
  • Mute: During a call, press the MUTE button to temporarily silence your microphone. The other party will not hear you. Press again to unmute.
  • Alarm: Set an alarm to ring at a specific time. Refer to the handset menu for alarm settings.
  • Backlit Display and Keypad: The handset features a backlit LCD screen and keypad for easy viewing in low-light conditions.
  • ECO Mode: The phone automatically adjusts and reduces RF power based on the distance from the base unit, promoting energy efficiency and minimizing radiation exposure.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean the handset and base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use cleaning sprays or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Care:
    • Use only the supplied NiMH rechargeable batteries.
    • Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
    • If the phone will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the phone to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or moisture.

Troubleshooting
