2.2 Battery Installation

The X6100 features a built-in 3000mAh rechargeable lithium battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use. Connect the provided charger to the DC IN port on the transceiver and plug it into a power outlet. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

2.3 Protective Bracket and Screen Protector Installation

To enhance durability and protect the transceiver, especially during portable use, the protective bracket and screen protector can be installed.

  • Protective Bracket: The kit includes brackets and hardware. Use a jeweler-style screwdriver to remove existing screws from the radio's sides. Align the brackets with the screw holes, ensuring the paracord hole is towards the top, and secure them with the provided small Allen wrench and replacement screws.
  • BNC Protector: The BNC protector simply pops onto the BNC antenna connector on the side of the radio.
  • Screen Protector: Clean the screen thoroughly before applying the screen protector. Carefully align and press the protector onto the screen, similar to applying a phone screen protector.

3.5 Power Output Adjustment

The X6100 offers a maximum power output of 10W. When running off the internal battery, the typical output is 5W. When connected to an external power source (e.g., wall outlet or external battery), the output can be increased to 10W. Adjust the power setting via the menu options as needed for your operating conditions.

Video Description: This video demonstrates the power output capabilities of the Xiegu X6100, showing measurements at both 5W and 10W across different frequency bands using an external wattmeter.

3.6 External Amplifier Connection

The X6100 can be connected to an external power amplifier, such as the Xiegu XPA125B, to expand its output power up to 100W. Use a compatible L4001 cable (not included) for connection. The X6100 can automatically control the band switching of the XPA125B, and ALC (Automatic Level Control) ensures the output power remains constant at approximately 100W. It is recommended to set the X6100's output power to ≤2.5W when using an external amplifier to protect the equipment.
