2. Package Contents and Setup

2.1 What's in the Box:

2.2 Initial Setup:

  1. Charge the Device: Before first use, fully charge the borescope using the provided Type-C charging cable. Connect the cable to the borescope's charging port and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The 3000mAh battery provides approximately 4-5 hours of continuous operation when fully charged.
  2. Insert Micro SD Card: The device supports a Micro SD card (often included) for storing photos and videos. Locate the Micro SD card slot, typically near the USB-C port, and insert the card gently until it clicks into place.
  3. Power On: Press and hold the power button to turn on the borescope. The 5-inch IPS display will illuminate.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Operation:

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button (usually marked with a power symbol) to turn the device on or off.
  • Display Adjustment: The screen can be adjusted for optimal viewing angles. It supports vertical rotation up to 50° and horizontal rotation up to 180°.

3.2 Articulating Probe Control:

The borescope features a unique 2-way 210° articulating probe, allowing you to steer the camera tip precisely. Use the control wheel on the handle to manipulate the probe's direction. This enables inspection of areas that would otherwise be inaccessible or require complex maneuvers.

3.3 Illumination and Imaging:

  • Adjustable LED Lights: The probe tip is equipped with 8 adjustable LED lights. Use the dedicated light button on the display unit to cycle through brightness levels (0%, 60%, 80%, 100%) to achieve optimal illumination in dark environments.
  • Zoom Function: Utilize the zoom controls on the display to magnify the image up to 3X, allowing for closer examination of details.
  • Photo/Video Capture: Press the appropriate buttons on the display unit to capture still images or record video footage. All media will be saved to the inserted Micro SD card.

3.4 Safety Features:

  • IP67 Waterproof and Oil-proof Probe: The probe is designed to withstand immersion in water and exposure to oils, making it suitable for various industrial and automotive applications.
  • Unique High Temperature Protection: The device features an automatic alarm if the probe temperature exceeds 80°C. The video signal will automatically disconnect if the temperature reaches over 85°C to prevent damage.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Probe: After each use, especially in dirty or oily environments, gently wipe the probe and camera lens with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn residue, a mild, non-abrasive cleaner can be used. Ensure the probe is dry before storage.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge the device when the battery indicator is low. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and recharge every few months.
  • Storage: Always store the borescope in its provided sturdy protective case when not in use. This protects the device from dust, impacts, and environmental damage, ensuring its longevity and performance.
  • Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Do not expose the device to extreme hot or cold temperatures, as this can affect battery performance and electronic components.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your NIDAGE Articulating Borescope.
