Setup

1. Charging the Battery

Insert the DMW-BLK22 battery into the provided AC adapter or charge it directly in the camera using the USB-C cable. The charging indicator will show the charging status. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

2. Inserting the Memory Card

The Lumix G9 II supports dual UHS-II SD card slots. Open the memory card slot cover, insert the SD cards with the label facing the correct direction until they click into place. Close the cover securely.

3. Attaching the Lens

Remove the body cap from the camera and the rear lens cap from the lens. Align the mounting marks on the lens and the camera body. Turn the lens clockwise until it clicks into place. To remove, press the lens release button and turn the lens counter-clockwise.

4. Initial Power On

Press the power switch to turn on the camera. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the date, time, and language.

Operating Instructions

1. Basic Controls and Display

The camera features a 3.68m-Dot 0.8x-Magnification OLED Live View Finder (LVF) and a 3.0" 1.84m-Dot Free-Angle Touchscreen. Use the touchscreen for menu navigation and quick settings adjustments. The rear of the camera includes various buttons for direct access to functions.

The G9 II features a 779-point Phase Hybrid AF system with AI-powered recognition. This system can detect and track subjects including humans, animals, cars, and motorcycles. Select your AF mode (e.g., Single AF, Continuous AF, Flexible AF) and AF area mode (e.g., Pinpoint, 1-Area, Zone, Tracking) via the menu or dedicated buttons.

The camera incorporates 5-Axis Sensor Stabilization and Dual I.S. 2, which combines in-body and in-lens stabilization for enhanced shake reduction, allowing for sharper handheld shots and smoother video.

5. High-Resolution Mode

For incredibly detailed images, use the 100MP Handheld High-Res Mode. This feature composites multiple exposures to create a single high-resolution RAW or JPEG file. Access this mode through the shooting menu.

6. Video Recording

The G9 II supports C4K/4K 60p 4:2:2 10-Bit video recording. To start recording, switch to video mode and press the dedicated video record button. Adjust video settings such as frame rate, resolution, and color profiles in the video menu.

7. Connectivity

The camera offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for wireless image transfer and remote control via the Panasonic Image App. Use the USB-C port for data transfer and charging, and the HDMI port for video output to external monitors.
