5. Setup and Installation
This section outlines the general steps for installing your AORUS WATERFORCE II 360 ICE. Specific steps may vary slightly depending on your motherboard and PC case. Always refer to your motherboard's manual for CPU socket preparation.
5.1. Pre-Installation Checklist
- Ensure your PC case has adequate space for a 360mm radiator and three 120mm fans.
- Gather necessary tools: Phillips head screwdriver.
- Clean the CPU surface thoroughly if thermal paste is not pre-applied or if replacing an old cooler.
5.2. Mounting Bracket Installation
Select the appropriate mounting bracket for your CPU socket (Intel or AMD) and install it onto the motherboard according to the diagrams below.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your liquid CPU cooler.
- Dust Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from the radiator fins and fan blades using compressed air or a soft brush. Ensure fans are not spinning during cleaning.
- Visual Inspection: Regularly inspect the tubing and connections for any signs of leaks or damage.
- Fan Noise: If fans become excessively noisy, check for dust buildup or obstructions.
8. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| High CPU Temperatures | Improper pump/block mounting, insufficient thermal paste, blocked radiator fins, pump failure, fan failure. | Re-seat pump block, re-apply thermal paste, clean radiator, check pump/fan connections, verify pump/fan operation in BIOS/software. |
| Fans Not Spinning / ARGB Not Lighting Up | Loose cable connections, incorrect header connection, software conflict. | Ensure all fan and ARGB cables are securely connected to the correct headers. Check motherboard BIOS settings for fan control. Verify compatibility with existing ARGB software. |
| Unusual Noise from Cooler | Air bubbles in pump, fan bearing noise, loose components. | Orient case to allow air bubbles to settle in radiator. Check fan screws for tightness. If noise persists and is excessive, contact support. |
| Missing Installation Kit Components | Packaging error. | Contact your retailer or GIGABYTE customer support immediately with proof of purchase. |
