3. Setup

Proper setup is crucial for the safe operation of the cable hoist.

Mounting the Hoist:

  1. Select a sturdy, horizontal beam or support structure capable of safely bearing the hoist's weight plus the maximum intended load.
  2. Attach the hoist securely to the beam using appropriate mounting hardware (not always included, refer to product packaging). Ensure all bolts and fasteners are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
  3. Verify that the hoist is level and stable, with no wobbling or movement.

Wire Rope and Pulley Installation:

  1. The hoist comes with a 12-meter twist-free wire rope pre-installed on the drum.
  2. For single-line operation (max 125 kg), attach the load hook directly to the end of the wire rope.
  3. For double-line operation (max 250 kg), use the included pulley with load hook. Thread the wire rope through the pulley and secure the end of the rope to the hoist body as per the diagram in the full manual. Ensure the load hook's safety bar is functional.

Electrical Connection:

  • Connect the hoist to a suitable power supply (e.g., 230V, 50Hz) via a grounded outlet.
  • Ensure the power supply matches the specifications on the hoist's rating plate.

4. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the control console and safety features before operating the hoist.

Control Console:

  • The control console typically features 'Up' and 'Down' buttons for lifting and lowering, and an 'Emergency Stop' button.
  • Press and hold the 'Up' button to lift the load. Release to stop.
  • Press and hold the 'Down' button to lower the load. Release to stop.

Lifting Operations:

  1. Attach the load securely to the load hook, ensuring the safety bar is closed.
  2. Ensure the load is balanced and will not swing excessively during lifting.
  3. Slowly lift the load, observing its stability.
  4. The automatic brake will engage when the 'Up' or 'Down' button is released, securing the load in position.
  5. The automatic end stop will prevent the hook from traveling too high or too low, stopping the motor automatically.

Emergency Stop:

  • In an emergency or if an unsafe condition occurs, press the red 'Emergency Stop' button on the control console. This will immediately cut power to the motor and engage the brake.
  • To reset the emergency stop, twist the button clockwise and pull it out.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your hoist.

Daily/Before Use:

  • Inspect the wire rope for kinks, fraying, corrosion, or broken strands. Replace if any damage is found.
  • Check the load hook and safety bar for deformation or damage.
  • Verify that the mounting bolts are tight and the hoist is secure.
  • Test the emergency stop function.

Periodic Maintenance:

  • Clean the hoist exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Check electrical cables for damage.
  • The motor is equipped with a thermal switch that will automatically shut down the motor if it overheats. Allow the motor to cool down before resuming operation.
