Package Contents

Before proceeding with the setup, please ensure all items are present in the package:

Setup

1. Physical Connection

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the phone base.

  2. Connect to Network:

    • If using Power over Ethernet (PoE): Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the phone and the other end to a PoE-enabled switch or router.
    • If not using PoE: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the phone and the other end to your network switch/router. Then, connect the power adapter to the phone's power port and plug it into a power outlet.
  3. Optional PC Connection: If you wish to connect a PC through the phone, connect an Ethernet cable from your PC to the PC port on the phone.

2. Initial Boot-up and Network Configuration

Once powered on, the phone will boot up. It will attempt to obtain an IP address via DHCP. If successful, the IP address will be displayed on the screen. If not, you may need to configure network settings manually via the phone's menu or web interface.

3. Account Registration

To make and receive calls, you need to register your SIP account. This is typically done via the phone's web interface or through auto-provisioning from your VoIP service provider. Refer to your service provider's documentation for specific SIP account details (SIP Server, User ID, Password).

Making Calls

Receiving Calls

When the phone rings, pick up the handset or press the Speaker button to answer. You can also press the Answer soft key.

Emergency Button

The HELP button is designed for emergency situations. When pressed, it will initiate a call to a pre-configured emergency number. Ensure this number is correctly set up by your administrator or service provider.

Volume Adjustment

Use the + and - buttons on the side of the keypad to adjust the volume of the handset, speaker, or ringer during a call or when idle.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Connectivity

The Fanvil X305 supports built-in 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. These can be configured through the phone's menu settings to connect to wireless networks or pair with Bluetooth headsets.
