Setup and Installation
This section provides general guidelines for the installation of your built-in shower set. Due to the complexity of built-in plumbing, professional installation is strongly recommended.
1. Pre-Installation Checks
- Inspect Components: Ensure all parts are present and undamaged.
- Water Supply: Turn off the main water supply to the bathroom.
- Wall Preparation: Prepare the wall cavity according to the dimensions provided in the technical diagram for the built-in mixer and piping.
- Water Connections: Identify hot and cold water lines. Hot water is typically on the left, cold on the right.
2. Mixer Valve Installation
- Mount the built-in thermostatic mixer valve securely within the wall cavity, ensuring it is level and at the correct depth relative to the finished wall surface.
- Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the designated inlets on the mixer valve.
- Connect the outlets from the mixer valve to the pipes leading to the rain shower head and the hand shower wall outlet.
- Perform a leak test before closing the wall.
3. Shower Head and Hand Shower Installation
- Install the wall-mounted shower arm for the rain shower head, ensuring it is securely fastened and sealed. Attach the rain shower head to the arm.
- Install the wall outlet/hand shower holder at a convenient height. Connect the shower hose to the wall outlet and the hand shower.
4. Final Assembly
- Once the wall is finished, install the decorative control plate and handles onto the thermostatic mixer valve.
- Turn on the main water supply and check for any leaks.

Operating Instructions
The IMEX GTN047/NG shower set features a single thermostatic mixer with two control functions:
- Temperature Control: The lower handle controls the water temperature. Rotate it to adjust the temperature. A safety stop is typically present at 38°C (100°F) to prevent accidental scalding. To exceed this temperature, press the safety button and continue rotating the handle.
- Flow and Diverter Control: The upper handle controls the water flow and diverts water between the main rain shower head and the hand shower. Rotate it to increase or decrease flow, and turn it to select the desired shower outlet.

Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your IMEX shower set.
Cleaning the Finish
- Clean the matte black finish regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap and water.
- DO NOT use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or chemical cleaners containing ammonia, bleach, or alcohol, as these can damage the finish.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
Shower Head Maintenance
- The nozzles on the rain shower head and hand shower are designed to be easy to clean. Periodically rub the silicone nozzles to dislodge any limescale buildup.
- For more stubborn limescale, a solution of white vinegar and water can be used. Soak the shower head (if removable) or apply the solution with a cloth, then rinse thoroughly.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your shower set, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Water Flow or Low Pressure:
- Check if the main water supply is fully open.
- Inspect for blockages in the shower head nozzles or hose.
- Verify that the mixer valve is fully open.
- Inconsistent Water Temperature:
- Ensure hot and cold water supplies are connected correctly.
- Check the thermostatic cartridge for limescale buildup (may require professional cleaning or replacement).
- Verify stable hot water supply from your water heater.
- Leaks from Connections:
- Turn off the water supply immediately.
- Check all connections for proper tightening and ensure seals/washers are correctly seated and not damaged.
