4. Setup and Installation

Due to the concealed nature of this shower set, installation involves embedding the mixer body within the wall. This process typically includes:

  1. Wall Preparation: Create an opening in the wall at the desired height and location for the concealed mixer body. Ensure adequate space for plumbing connections.
  2. Mixer Body Installation: Secure the concealed mixer body firmly within the wall opening, ensuring it is level and at the correct depth relative to the finished wall surface.
  3. Plumbing Connections: Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the designated inlets on the mixer body. Connect the outlets to the overhead shower and hand shower lines. Ensure all connections are watertight.
  4. Leak Test (Rough-in): Before closing the wall, turn on the main water supply and check all connections for leaks. Rectify any leaks immediately.
  5. Wall Finishing: Once the mixer body and plumbing are secure and leak-free, finish the wall surface (e.g., tiling).
  6. Trim Installation: Install the escutcheons, control handles, overhead shower head, hand shower, hose, and wall holder onto the finished wall.
  7. Final Leak Test: After all components are installed, perform a final leak test and check the functionality of the shower set.

5. Operating Instructions

Your IMEX GTA052/BGM ASSEN shower set is designed for intuitive use:

  • Turning On/Off and Adjusting Flow: The single-lever handle controls both water flow and temperature. Lift the handle to turn on the water and increase flow. Push it down to turn off the water.
  • Adjusting Temperature: Rotate the single-lever handle left for hotter water and right for colder water. Adjust gradually to find your desired temperature.
  • Diverting Water Flow: The second handle (diverter) allows you to switch between the overhead shower and the hand shower. Rotate this handle to select your preferred water outlet.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your shower set:

  • Cleaning the Finish: Clean the Black Gun Metal finish with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or chemical solvents, as these can damage the finish.
  • Cleaning Shower Nozzles: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up on the shower head nozzles. Many modern shower heads feature flexible silicone nozzles that can be cleaned by gently rubbing them with your finger to dislodge deposits. For stubborn buildup, a solution of white vinegar and water can be used, applied with a soft cloth.
  • Checking for Leaks: Periodically inspect visible connections for any signs of leaks. Address any leaks promptly to prevent water damage.

7. Troubleshooting

Below are common issues and potential solutions:
