Front/Top Panel Controls:
- Platter: Where the vinyl record rests.
- Tonearm: Holds the stylus and tracks the record grooves.
- Stylus (Needle): The part that reads the record.
- 45 RPM Adapter: Used for playing 7-inch records with large center holes.
- Speed Selector (33/45 RPM): Switch to select playback speed.
- Auto Stop Switch: Enables/disables automatic stopping of the platter at the end of a record.
- Pitch Control: Adjusts the playback speed slightly.
- Volume Knob (MIN/MAX): Controls the output volume of the integrated speakers and line out.
- Power/Volume Knob (ON/OFF): Turns the unit on/off and adjusts volume.
- Headphone Jack: For private listening.
Rear Panel Ports:
- RCA Audio Output (L/R): Connects to external amplifiers or powered speakers.
- AUX IN: Connects external audio devices (e.g., smartphone, tablet) via a 3.5mm audio cable.
- DC 12V Power Input: Connects the power adapter.
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the turntable from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the turntable on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or vibrations.
- Power Connection: Connect the DC 12V power adapter to the DC 12V input port on the back of the turntable, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
- Remove Stylus Protector: Gently remove the clear plastic stylus protector from the stylus. Be careful not to bend the stylus.
- Open Lid: Open the lid of the turntable.
Operating Instructions
Playing a Vinyl Record:
- Power On: Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to turn on the unit. The power indicator light will illuminate.
- Select Speed: Set the speed selector switch to 33 RPM for LPs or 45 RPM for singles. If playing a 45 RPM single with a large center hole, place the included 45 RPM adapter on the spindle.
- Place Record: Carefully place a vinyl record on the platter.
- Auto Stop: Set the Auto Stop switch to ON if you want the platter to stop spinning automatically when the record finishes. Set to OFF for continuous play.
- Position Tonearm: Gently lift the tonearm using the tonearm lift lever. Move the tonearm over the desired starting track of the record.
- Lower Tonearm: Slowly lower the tonearm onto the record using the tonearm lift lever. The record will begin to play.
- Adjust Volume: Adjust the volume using the Volume knob.
- End of Playback: When the record finishes (if Auto Stop is ON), the platter will stop. If Auto Stop is OFF, manually lift the tonearm and return it to the tonearm rest.
Bluetooth Output (Connecting to External Bluetooth Speakers):
The Mixx Tribute can stream audio wirelessly to external Bluetooth speakers.
- Ensure your external Bluetooth speaker is in pairing mode.
- Turn on the Mixx Tribute turntable. It will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode (the Bluetooth indicator light may flash).
- The turntable will search for and connect to nearby Bluetooth speakers. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light will become solid.
- Play a record, and the audio will be streamed to your connected Bluetooth speaker.
Bluetooth Input (Connecting a Smartphone/Tablet):
You can also use the Mixx Tribute as a Bluetooth speaker for your smartphone or tablet.
- Turn on the Mixx Tribute turntable.
- On your smartphone or tablet, go to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
- Select "Mixx Tribute" (or similar name) from the list of devices to pair.
- Once connected, you can play audio from your device through the turntable's integrated speakers.
Using AUX IN:
Connect external audio devices (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the turntable using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) plugged into the AUX IN port on the back. The audio will play through the turntable's integrated speakers.
Using RCA Audio Output:
Connect the RCA L/R output ports on the back of the turntable to an external amplifier or powered speakers using an RCA cable (not included) for enhanced sound.
Maintenance
- Stylus Care: The stylus is delicate. Clean it periodically with a soft brush, brushing from back to front. Do not touch the stylus with your fingers.
- Unit Cleaning: Wipe the turntable with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
- Record Care: Keep your records clean and free of dust. Store them vertically in their sleeves to prevent warping.
- Storage: When not in use, close the lid to protect the platter and tonearm from dust. If storing for an extended period, unplug the unit and place the stylus protector back on.
Troubleshooting
