4.2 App Installation and Device Pairing
- Download the App: Search for "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" in your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android) and install it.
- Register/Log In: Open the app and register for a new account or log in with an existing one.
- Add Device: Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Open the battery compartment of the sensor and press the reset button for 5-7 seconds until the indicator light blinks rapidly. In the app, tap the "+" icon to add a device. The app may automatically detect the sensor via Bluetooth for quick pairing. If not, manually select "Sensor" > "PIR Sensor (Wi-Fi)" or similar.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the sensor to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.
- Device Added: Once successfully paired, the indicator light will stop blinking and remain solid for a moment, then turn off. The device will appear in your app's device list.
4.3 Placement and Mounting
The sensor comes with a 360° rotating base, allowing for flexible installation. Consider the following for optimal performance:
- Detection Area: The sensor has a 128° wide-angle detection and a maximum range of 10 meters. Position it to cover the desired area without obstructions.
- Avoid Heat Sources: Do not place the sensor near heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight, air conditioning vents) as this can cause false alarms.
- Mounting Options:

- Wall Mount: Use the included screws or adhesive tape to attach the base to a wall. The sensor can then be clicked onto the base and adjusted up/down by 45° and rotated 360°.
- Ceiling Mount: The base can also be mounted on a ceiling for overhead detection.
- Flat Surface: The sensor can be placed directly on a shelf, table, or cabinet without mounting.

Image 5.2.2: Intelligent Linkage Example. This image demonstrates how the motion sensor can be integrated into smart home scenarios, such as automatically controlling a light based on detected movement.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
When the app indicates a low battery level, replace the 2 AAA batteries. To do this, detach the sensor from its mounting base, open the battery compartment, remove the old batteries, and insert new ones with correct polarity. Close the compartment and reattach the sensor to its base.
6.2 Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the sensor lens and the device exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the sensor or casing.
