Assembly (Setup)

The COSTWAY Balance Bike features a pre-assembled design for quick and easy setup. Minimal assembly is required.

  1. Attach the Front Wheel and Handlebar: Insert the front fork with the wheel into the main frame. Align the handlebar with the fork and secure it using the provided hex key. Ensure it is tightened firmly to prevent wobbling.
  2. Adjust the Seat Height: Locate the seat adjustment mechanism beneath the seat. Loosen the clamp, adjust the seat to the desired height (between 30-35 cm), and then securely tighten the clamp. The child's feet should be able to touch the ground flat-footed when seated.
  3. Final Check: Before first use, verify that all connections are tight, the wheels spin freely, and the steering operates smoothly within its 150-degree limit.

Operation

The balance bike is designed to teach children balance and steering before transitioning to a pedal bike.

  1. Getting Started: Ensure the seat is adjusted so the child can comfortably place both feet flat on the ground. This allows them to push off and stop easily.
  2. Pushing and Gliding: Encourage the child to walk or run while seated on the bike, pushing off the ground with their feet. As they gain confidence, they will naturally start to glide with both feet off the ground.
  3. Steering: The anti-slip handlebars provide a secure grip. The 150-degree steering limit helps prevent sharp turns that could lead to falls, promoting safer learning.
  4. Braking: Children use their feet to slow down and stop, developing natural braking instincts.
